Contrary to previous claims that Rihanna and Chris Brown reunited in the studio last month to record a new duet, record producer Polow Da Don recently confirmed that the couple recorded the newly surfaced track last year. "The reports are inaccurate," Polow's publicist, Laura Wright, told US magazine. "The duet was recorded long before the incident." According to People, the track, reportedly titled 'Bad Girl,' was intended to be on the soundtrack for 'Confessions of a Shopaholic,' but the song was eventually recorded by the Pussycat Dolls.

3/19/09: Kanye West / The Dream
Seven years ago this month, music heavyweights R. Kelly and Jay-Z released their highly anticipated collaborative album 'The Best of Both Worlds.' Now it appears Kanye West and The Dream are vying to work on a similar project. "Everybody is trying to talk us into it," Dream told 'MTV News' of his and West's friends and business associates. "It was first thought of by me. I was in Miami at the time, and I gave Kanye a call and said, 'The best thing would be for me and you to do an album.'... Let's take the best of both worlds and put it on a CD and try to make something we can sell to the consumers. He says he's with it. We're gonna try to make it happen." For now, you can catch Kanye on Dream's potential third single 'Walking on the Moon,' which is featured on his newly released album 'Love vs. Money.'

3/19/09: The Miracles
Legendary Motown group The Miracles is the latest musical act to receive a Hollywood star on the world-renowned Walk of Fame. The 'Ooo Baby, Baby' singers were presented with the 2,381st star on March 20 by Hollywood Chamber of Commerce, President and CEO Leron Gubler. Motown founder Berry Gordy and Stevie Wonder were also on hand as guest speakers for the ceremony.

Altovise Davis, the widow of Rat Pack member Sammy Davis Jr. , recently died at the age of 65. Two days prior to her death, she was admitted to Los Angeles'Cedars-Sinai Medical Center after suffering a stroke. The couple, who met in 1967 on the set of the musical 'Golden Boy,' married in 1970 and remained together until Davis' untimely death of throat cancer in 1990.

3/19/09: Earth, Wind & Fire
Iconic Rock and Roll Hall of Fame group Earth, Wind & Fire is set to hit the road this summer for a 30-city tour beginning June 5 in Orange Beach, AL. In addition to Maurice White and company gracing the stage will be pop-rock band Chicago, which will perform a full show before joining for a final set together, according to Billboard. The tour will conclude on Aug. 1 in Lake Tahoe, NV.

3/19/09: Kim Burrell
Gospel vocalist Kim Burrell is on deck to release her first new album in nine years titled 'No Ways Tired.' The project's title is inspired by gospel pioneer James Cleveland's classic of the same name. In addition to covering Cleveland's hit, Burrell also tapped other timeless classics including 'My Faith Looks Up to Thee,' 'What a Friend We Have in Jesus,' 'O Lamb of God,' and 'I Surrender All.' There are also a few originals. 'No Ways Tired' is set to hit stores April 7 via Shanachie Records.

Despite being on hiatus since the release of his debut album 'Who Is Mike Jones?' Houston's own Mike Jones is ready to make his mark on the charts once again with the release of 'The Voice.' Jones' sophomore effort is packed with some of the industry's most talented artist including, Lil' Wayne, T-Pain, Devin the Dude, Hurricane Chris and Twista. He's had recent success with his latest single 'Next To You,' which is currently number 16 on Radio and Records Rhythmic charts. "For the past four years, I have been doing a lot of restructuring, getting this record right, making sure my business is right and more," Jones said of his hiatus. "Now, I am ready to finish what I started. I'm hoping my fans will feel 'The Voice' was worth the wait." Mike Jones 'The Voice' is due in stores April 28.

With the recent announcement that Michael Jackson will return to the stage this summer, another influential artist is also planning to make his return. Beginning March 25, Prince will be performing on the 'Tonight Show with Jay Leno' for three consecutive nights. In addition, the 'Little Red Corvette' singer is also readying the Mar. 29 release of his two new albums 'LOtUSFLOW3R' and 'MPLSoUND.' Prince is the latest artist to promote a release through multiple late-night talk show performances. U2 also recently performed five nights in a row on the 'Late Show with David Letterman' in support of its new album 'No Line on the Horizon.'

Teena Marie: Keeping Rick James' Legacy Alive

Blue-eyed soul diva Teena Marie just celebrated 31 years in the music business.

The Santa Monica, Calif.-bred vocalist, who's affectionately known as Lady T, never imagined she could have a career spanning three decades.

"We were experimenting. We were kids having fun and we were doing music well beyond our years. Really, it was just wonderful. I was 19 and everyone around me was 18, 19 and 20. I had no idea it would last this long and it was absolutely a blessing," she told BV Buzz.

To celebrate this milestone in her career, Marie said she has revamped her concert show to include all of her greatest hits and some songs by those she started with in the beginning.

"I'm so excited. We have a brand new show. I'm not just doing my music now, but I'm doing the whole representation of Rick James, The Mary Jane Girls and Teena Marie. So it's pretty exciting. I feel like I have to not just represent me, but him now and the whole legacy he created," she shared. "They're back to back hits. It's crazy. Between mine and his and The Mary Jane Girls; its pretty in your face!"

The 54-year-old vocalist will debut her new concert set during the 5th Annual Jazz in the Gardens music festival in Miami this weekend.

Marie, who released her 13th CD, 'Congo Square' on the legendary Stax Records last year, will perform alongside Mary J. Blige, Robin Thicke, John Legend, Boyz II Men, Melanie Fiona, Joe Sample, Cassandra Wilson and others during the two day festival at Miami's Dolphin Stadium.

The Rick James protégé is eager to premiere her new concert show at Jazz in the Gardens because she feels that it's important to give fans a fresh experience when they see her live.

"We change the show about every two to three years so that we can just keep it exciting and do some different things. I don't like people to see the show more than twice. They'll say, 'Oh that's the same show I saw the last time.' It's okay for that to happen two or three times at the most, but after that, you have to change it up. This time, we've gone back to a lot of the original arrangements of the songs and make them pop like the records popped," she expressed.

Many learned the details of Marie's beginnings in music during her episode of TV One docu-series 'Unsung.' The singer confessed that though she's used to sharing her life in her songs, opening up on television was difficult to do.

"I'm a private person. I thought they did an amazing job of it. It was very classy and very inspirational. When I first met with them, I was a little concerned because a lot the episodes were kind of sad because of the artists that they chose and the paths the artists were on. But after I thought about it, I said I haven't had a sad life and it came off wonderful. It was awesome having all those people come together from Smokey Robinson, Mr. Gordy, my daughter, Faith Evans, MC Lyte and my mother. People loved it and it's supposed to be the most sought-after episode of 'Unsung' so far," she said.

For the young artists who ask Marie what they could do to have longevity in the business like she has, she said her advice is always the same.

"I just always say stay true to yourself. Really know that you're an artist and a human being first. It's really, really important to have integrity; not just in music, but just in your own life. If you can stay true to yourself and carry that integrity into your life, there's nothing no one can do to harm you," she closed.

End of the Road: Darius McCrary & Karrine Steffans Divorcing

After almost one year of being married, actor Darius McCrary has filed for divorce from his wife, former video vixen Karrine Steffans.

The former 'Family Matters' star, who wed the New York Times bestselling author on April 20, 2009, filed paperwork to dissolve the marriage on Feb. 10 in Los Angeles County Court according to the National Enquirer, who published the court documents in their latest issue.

The actor reportedly sent Steffans a bouquet of flowers along with her divorce papers.

This is McCrary's third marriage and third divorce.

"I will always love Karrine and her son, but we are not good together. It was just time for us to go our separate ways," McCrary told NE reporter Patricia Shipp.

McCrary, who now stars on 'The Young and the Restless,' had dated the author of tomes like 'Confessions of a Video Vixen' and 'The Vixen Diaries' on an off for almost two years after meeting her at a gifting suite for the ESPY Awards in July of 2007.

The couple broke up for a while in June of 2008 after the 31-year-old beauty accused McCrary of domestic violence.

The 33-year-old actor was then interviewed for the documentary 'Kiss and Tail: The Hollywood Jump Off' that was based on Steffans and spoke disparagingly about his then ex-girlfriend.

Months later the couple reconciled and quietly wed in Los Angeles less than a year later.

With news of the divorce being public, Steffans is now accusing her ex-hubby-to-be of being unfaithful during the marriage.

"He cheated on me. You can't cover that up with a bouquet of flowers," she told the National Enquirer.

Steffans intends to maintain her marriage name, Karrine Steffans-McCrary moving forward.

While her marriage may be over, the controversial author has a new relationship with Fox Television Studios. Fox recently optioned the rights to her latest book 'The Vixen Manual.'

Steffans will write and co-executive produce a scripted show loosely based on her life experiences and the book's premise.

BV Buzz spoke to Steffans about the deal with Fox prior to the National Enquirer breaking the news about her divorce.

"Naturally, I am overjoyed to be working with Fox Studios in bringing the ideals of 'The Vixen Manual' and a version of my life to the small screen. I look forward to my future in television and film as a force behind the scenes," she said then.

Steffans, who was previously married to rapper Kool G Rap, will also be featured on an upcoming episode of TV One's 'Life After' series.

Lil Mo: R&B Singer Returns To Radio

R&B star Lil' Mo is giving radio a second go. The Baltimore-based singer has landed a gig hosting afternoons on WPGC 95.5 FM in Washington, DC.

She takes over the time slot that was previously hosted by BET personality Big Tigger, who announced his departure from the station last week.

"I thank Big Tigger for such a warm welcome to his former slot," Lil' Mo told BV Buzz. "I've taken over the airwaves and no better place I'd rather be than WPGC."

The pint-sized vocal powerhouse previously hosted an afternoon show for Baltimore's now-defunct X 105.7 FM for two years back in 2000.

"Now the technology is more advanced and I'm more mature," the singer explained about her decision to return to radio. "People got to know me in song, but I'm versatile and now you get to hear me talk it out on radio. You'll get into who I really am!"

In addition to working on her fifth solo CD, 'Tattoos & Roses' that is slated to drop later this year; Lil' Mo is also ready to flex her philanthropic muscles as well.

"When I decided to return to entertainment after taking some time off to be with my family, I wanted to start w/ my own foundation. This gig gives me an opportunity share my vision with my listeners," she expressed.

The 31-year-old star, who announced on Twitter that she and rapper Ja Rule recently squashed their decade-long beef, shared that she is excited about this new chapter in her career.

"When a lot of people counted me out, I knew things were going to be fine. Cause I always know that God got me. Now, I'm just looking forward to what the future holds," she closed.

Reality Romance: Que & Dawn Get MTV Show

While Diddy's 'Making the Band' franchise may have seen its last days, MTV has decided to do a spin-off of the show with former Danity Kane singer Dawn Richard and former Day 26 member Qwanell "Que" Mosley.

The couple, who has been dating since season four of 'Making the Band,' will now star in their own show about their relationship.

"We have been going to MTV and meeting with some people in talks of a TV show so I'm excited that it got confirmed. It's just a part of my career I want people to understand my music and get to know me musically," Mosley said during a local radio appearance.

Richard is now a member of Diddy's new group, Dirty Money.

Mosley has embarked on a solo career after parting ways with Day 26 late last year. His mix-tape called 'Q' Files' will drop on March 23.

The couple will apparently begin production on their not-yet-titled reality show this summer.

Good Riddance: Shonda Rhimes Lets Katherine Heigl Leave Grey's Anatomy

Reports have surfaced that 'Grey Anatomy' executive producer Shonda Rhimes and ABC have decided to let Emmy-winning actress Katherine Heigl out of her contract so that she can leave the popular drama.

BV Buzz wrote an open letter to Rhimes last year begging her to let Heigl out of her contract since the ungrateful actress had been publicly griping about the series in the press.

Apparently Heigl had been asking to be released from her contract for almost three years.

The 31-year-old actress supposedly wants to focus now on her movie career.

Heigl was supposed to return to the set of 'Grey's Anatomy' to resume production two weeks ago but didn't. She had been out on maternity leave, as she has a newly adopted daughter.

Industry insiders are reporting that the 'Knocked Up' star likely won't return to the show at all to wrap up her storyline and now writers are brainstorming about how to deal with her exit from the show.

ABC will not comment on the matter.

The Game: Sitcom's Return On BET Nearly Finalized

Good news for fans of the former CW sitcom 'The Game.'

Sources close to the production tell BV Buzz that Black Entertainment Television has struck a deal with 'The Game's' parent company Paramount to develop new episodes of the popular series.

"The deal is done between the two networks," the source told BV Buzz. "Now it's a matter of getting the actors under contract again."

When The CW canceled the show in May of last year, the contracts with the shows stars Tia Mowry, Pooch Hall, Wendy Raquel Robinson, Hosea Chanchez, Brittany Daniel and Coby Bell weren't optioned and ultimately expired on June 30, 2009.

Now BET has to negotiate new contracts with the actors, which is expected to be done within the next two weeks.

"The show will have the same production value, so the actors will make the same type of money they made when they did 'The Game' for The CW," the source shared.

There is a conflict now with actor Bell, who played Jason Pitts on the sports-themed comedy. It was just announced that he is joining the cast of the hit USA show, 'Burn Notice.'

"He will likely still be able to work on 'The Game,' but only as a recurring character instead of being a series regular," the source explained.

Once the deal is finalized, 'The Game' will begin production on new episodes in May and shoot on location in Atlanta.

Mara Brock Akil, who also produced 'Girlfriends,' will return as the executive producer of the show as well.

BET hopes to use 'The Game' to launch their new scripted television division, something that Debra Lee, CEO of Black Entertainment Television told BV Buzz when we reported on this story last summer.

Splitsville: Singer Monica Splits With Fiance Rocko

Just weeks before her comeback CD 'Still Standing' is slated to hit stores, R&B star Monica announced that she has split with her fiancé, rapper Rodney "Rocko" Hill.

Amid rumors that Rocko has cheated on the 'Boy Is Mine' singer, Monica took to twitter to confirm that the two have gone their separate ways.

"Thank U everyone for all the love you're sending. @Rocko4Real is a great father and we will continue to love and parent our children. The rest is a private matter between @Rocko4Real and I. He is a good person. We all make mistakes. Even separated we will always be family. I say thank U again to U all," she wrote.

The Atlanta-bred vocalist assured fans that she's going to be fine and asked them not to worry about the matter.

"And as I live and learn I grow. Don't feel sorry for me just pray for me. Gods got it. Have a great day," she added.

Monica and Rocko have two sons together, Rodney Hill Jr., 4 and Romello Montez, 2.

The family was featured on Monica's BET reality series, 'Monica: Still Standing.'

From her first CD in 1992, 'What's the 411?,' to last year's 'Stronger with Each Tear;' the New York-bred singer has sung about her highs and lows on the nine albums she's released.

Now the 39-year-old vocalist is contemplating writing a book, one that will put her life story on paper and serve as a cautionary guide for women - particularly those who want to get into the entertainment business.

"I think its time," Blige told BV Buzz about the idea during an interview during Disney's Dreamer's Academy at Walt Disney World in Orlando, Fla.

Blige acknowledged that helping women with her testimony is what she's truly been called to do.

"I am absolutely living my dream! My dream all my life has been to help woman because I'm a woman and I'm helping myself and thousands and millions of women with my story," she expressed.

The 'No More Drama' singer feels especially responsible for encouraging younger artists like Monica, Lil' Mo and Jazmine Sullivan. Her desire is to help them avoid the pitfalls she faced in the industry.

"It's imperative for me to help all of the younger singers who come up behind me because I don't want anyone to suffer through what I suffered through," she explained. "I almost ended up with nothing; meaning dead, broke and whatever you want to call it. I was given this position not just for myself but to be an example to them because they are me!"

Blige said it was her husband Kendu Isaacs who was the angel God sent to help turn her life around. Additionally, the R&B superstar said spending time reading the Bible was the thing that really helped her overcome her dark past.

"The work is the Word. Knowing what God says about me is true and what you say about me that is negative, is irrelevant. That's why I'm in this position in the first place. What God says is real, but what the negative people and the naysayers say is nothing," she declared.

Season two 'American Idol' finalist Kimberley Locke is single again!

After two years of dating 'Celebrity Fit Club' fitness coach Harvey Walden, the couple recently broke up.

"He's not my husband or my boyfriend. We didn't make it," Locke told BV Buzz during Disney's Dreamers Academy at Walt Disney World.

Walden, like Locke, was on hand for the event in Orlando, but the singer was quick to point out: "We are here for the children, but we're not together."

The couple was just featured in the February issue of Ebony magazine in a spread on high-profile couples.

"It happened so fast. You know, stuff happens," Locke added about the timing of it all, before breaking into the chorus of Beyonce's 'Single Ladies (Put A Ring On It)' and doing the hand gesture: "If you like it then you should have put a ring on it/Uh, uh, oh!"

In addition to being newly single, the 32-year-old talent shared that she is no longer on Curb Records. Locke released three solo CDs on Curb including 2004's 'One Love' and 2007's 'Based on a True Story' and 'Christmas.'

The Hartsville, Tenn.-born singer has signed a new deal with 'American Idol' judge Randy Jackson.

"I have a new single coming out called 'Strobe Light.' It's a dance song that he produced," she said.

Locke said being at Walt Disney World speaking to the kids at Disney's Dreamers Academy reminded her of her time on 'American Idol.'

"You learn a lot of through trial and error unfortunately. You really kind of have to - and I'd hate to say it - but you almost have to be cocky about it. You have to be certain! Just because there is a Simon [Cowell] on a panel who has a bigger name than you, you might be compelled to believe everything he says. But the truth of the matter is, if something doesn't sit right within you and within your spirit and doesn't line up with what you're trying to do or the direction you're trying to go in; let it go, get rid of it and don't even entertain it. That's something that these kids will need to learn for themselves. They'll need to tune in and try to be in one accord with themselves and God," she explained.

The former Jenny Craig spokesperson said she had to get tougher skin during her stint on 'Idol,' and it was actually her friend, 'American Idol' winner Ruben Studdard that helped her with it.

"That's the one thing I had to learn and it was Ruben who actually said it to me," she confessed. "He was like, 'You've got to let that mess go.' One night I came offstage and I was a mess because Simon never liked me and I was always in the bottom three. I remember going home that night, saying my prayers and saying, 'I got to let that go!' Because if you don't let it go, especially on 'American Idol,' it builds up and you can't be your best."

As far as 'Idol' is concerned, BV Buzz asked Locke if she thought the show could survive next year without Cowell.

"No," she declared. "Paula is gone. I think it's a lot of change!"

Pulpit Ponzi: Winans Family Member Accused In Massive Money Scam

A member of the legendary Winans gospel family is being named as the ringleader of a Detroit area Ponzi scheme that could have made him as much at $11 million in early estimates.

The Office of Financial and Insurance Regulation announced today that a 14-month investigation uncovered that Michael Winans Jr., a member of the gospel quarter Winans Phase 2 and the son of The Winans singer, Michael Winans Sr., apparently led the Ponzi scheme that involved a Saudi Arabian crude old bond scam.

On a conference call led by Michigan state regulators today, the Office of Financial and Insurance Regulation said it was determined that Winans Jr. was the mastermind of the multilevel scam.

It is believed that Winans Jr. was able to secure investors in Ponzi scheme by using his family name to earn the trust of his victims in the Detroit community.

The scheme targeted members of the Genesis New Beginnings Church in Detroit and others throughout the city.

Additionally, state investigators revealed that they have uncovered $5 million in new Ann Arbor-based scams run by one of the Winans victims, Mark Carpenter. They are now warning residents to steer clear of Carpenter and his company, TGBG Financial.

"This was a multi-headed Ponzi hydra," said OFIR Commissioner Ken Ross. "Bank records indicate that Carpenter got scammed and then set up his own scam. We found fraud within fraud involving working people who were robbed of their life savings."

State regulators suspect that his father, Winans Sr. may have also been one of the promoters of the Ponzi scheme as well.

The Office of Financial and Insurance Regulation issued two cease and desist to Winans Jr., his associates Desmond Weems, Latonya Garth and Michael Winans Sr., and a number of other related business entities to stop selling unregistered securities products, a direct violation of the state's Uniform Securities Act.

State officials determined that Winans Jr. and his subordinates were not licensed to sell securities products in Michigan and the products sold were not registered with the state.

"We believe that the Winans family Ponzi scheme ran its course at the end of 2008," said Ross. "There are few winners here outside Mr. Winans Jr."

Winans Jr. was a member of the contemporary gospel quartet, Winans Phase 2, which included his cousins Marvin Jr., Carvin III and Juan Winans. The group released one CD, 'We Got Next' in 1999.

His father, Winans Sr. is a member of the Grammy winning gospel group The Winans. Best known for hits like 'The Question Is,' 'It's Time' and 'Ain't No Need To Worry,' the group was inducted into the Gospel Hall of Fame in 2007. He also released three duet CDs with his wife Regina Winans.

Lincoln Heights: Hit ABC Drama Canceled

BV Buzz was surprised to learn that ABC Family has canceled its hit drama, 'Lincoln Heights.'

The show's star Russell Hornsby shared the news with BV Buzz at an NAACP Image Awards pre-gala last week; however The Walt Disney owned cable channel announced on Jan. 29 that it would not renew the series.

Incidentally, 'Lincoln Heights' took home a trophy for Outstanding Drama Series at the NAACP Image Awards, beating out 'Grey's Anatomy,' 'Cold Case,' 'HawthoRNE' and 'The No. 1 Ladies' Detective Agency!'

'Lincoln Heights' debuted in 2007 and aired for four seasons. The show starred Hornsby, Nicki Micheaux, Erica Hubbard, Mishon Ratliff and Rhyon Brown.

The series followed a Los Angeles police officer and his family as he uprooted them from the suburbs to the former inner-city neighborhood where he grew up.

Music stars like Angie Stone and Trey Songz guest-starred on the drama, which currently airs in re-runs on the cable network TV One.

Talk Time: MC Lyte & Loni Love Launch Syndicated Radio Show

BV Buzz has learned that Grammy-winning hip-hop star MC Lyte and popular comedienne Loni Love ('Chelsea Lately') have joined forces for a new nationally syndicated weekly radio show called 'Café Mocha.'

Debuting in early March, the Super Radio-distributed radio show is a weekend program geared towards African-American women ages 18 to 49.

The mastermind of award-winning media mogul Sheila Eldridge, the show aims to offer an engaging dialogue similar to the daytime TV talk show 'The View' with a musical playlist featuring the best in urban hits.

"Café Mocha brings a fresh and empowering perspective that will speak directly and wholeheartedly to a community often overlooked by radio - African American women," said Eldridge, Café Mocha Creator and Executive Producer. "We're aiming to become the Essence magazine of the airwaves celebrating all shades of mocha."

Joining Lyte and Love as the third co-host of 'Café Mocha' is radio veteran Angelique Perrin.

In addition, the show will also feature contributions by an assortment of experts including Michelle Hammond, an Emmy-Award winning author and motivational speaker; and Dr. Rachael Ross, a licensed MD and clinically approved sexologist.

The program's website CafeMochaRadio.com is an interactive portal being launch in partnership with Essence.com.

Movie Chat: Tanika Ray Hosts 'Precious' Oscar Special

The TV Guide Network will premiere an exclusive special on six-time Oscar nominated film 'Precious: Based on the Novel 'Push' by Sapphire' on Feb. 20.

The one-hour TV Guide Network special, called 'Precious: The Story Behind the Movie,' will be hosted by TV personality Tanika Ray and will feature never-before-seen film footage, interviews with Oscar-nominated director Lee Daniels and Best Lead Actress nominee Gabourey Sidibe, and reactions from moviegoers who have watched the film.

Ray, a former host on the news magazine show 'Extra,' said that having covered the Academy Awards ceremony for years, its always great when a film like 'Precious' diversifies the coveted award show.

"As a black woman who is an avid film fan, it's always exciting to see African-American characters driving story lines and receiving critical acclaim. In the example of 'Precious,' Lee Daniels delivers this beautifully directed piece of art that doesn't sensationalize the reality of the story but presents the raw dirty and sometimes gut-wrenching facts in a manner that opens up the spirit to allow healing and self evolution," Ray told BV Buzz.

Ray shared she's glad the TV Guide Network decided to showcase 'Precious' in a one-hour Oscar special, because oftentimes African-American films are overlooked by mainstream media outlets even when they do receive accolades like Oscar nominations.

"There is a lack of diversity in Hollywood. Just look at the cover of Vanity Fair this month celebrating the fresh hot new talent of Hollywood. There isn't a trace of melanin on the entire three-page fold-out cover. It's insulting in 2010, which makes shows like the TV Guide Network special even more important to help break down that wall of exclusion and film segregation. Initially there was a chance that only African-American audiences would see 'Precious.' But with a storyline that crosses all racial boundaries, 'Precious' broke through and I'm thrilled to be a part of a special that pays respect to its achievement," she expressed.

The Washington, DC-born talent hopes that receiving multiple Oscar nods for 'Precious' is just the beginning of greater works for producer/director Daniels. Ray revealed she has been a huge fan of his prior to 'Precious.'

"I am beaming with pride and am so excited for his success to reach even greater heights. I've been saying for years that he was the most underrated director on the scene. Thank Goodness the cream always rises to the top," she offered.

In addition to hosting TV Guide Network's 'Precious: The Story Behind the Movie,' Ray will also be working for the TV Guide Network on Oscar night, Sunday March 7.

"I will actually be a part of the team covering the Oscars this year for TV Guide Network. They are a great bunch to work with and I'm honored to get out on the red carpet to celebrate this extraordinary year in film," she said.

Bo Griffin: TV & Radio Talent Dead at 51

BV Buzz has sadly learned that radio and television personality Bo Griffin has succumbed to a short and unexpected battle with cancer.

The Greenville, South Carolina-bred host died this morning after having been hospitalized for nearly three weeks. Griffin apparently was unaware she had cancer and after feeling some pain back in January, she went to the hospital to have it checked out and received her grim diagnosis.

Professionally, the 51-year-old talent had recently been guest-hosting the Game Show Network's 'GSN Live,' and had apparently signed on to begin some correspondence work for the news magazine show 'Extra,' where she had worked before.

Griffin became popular for her "Knock Knock Makeovers" on the nationally syndicated 'Good Day Live,' where she worked alongside Dorothy Lucy, Steve Edwards and Jillian Barberie. She was also featured on the local Los Angeles version, 'Good Day LA.'

A champion of full figured women, Griffin was also a host on the short-lived nationally syndicated talk show, 'Men Are From Mars, Women Are From Venus' in 2000 with co-hosts Cristina Ferrare, Sam Phillips, Dr. Drew Pinsky and Rondell Sheridan.

Previously, Griffin hosted the travel series 'Blue Ribbon' on Turner South and the home makeover show 'The Big Reveal' for HGTV as well.

Prior to her success in television, the self-described "southern girl" was a tour de force in radio, which earned her the title of "the Oprah of radio."

Her work in radio won her the Glass Ceiling Award from Black Radio Exclusive magazine.

Griffin owned a successful boutique called Goddess in Greenville that she recently sold because of her plans to move back to Los Angeles full-time.

She had gotten engaged last year and she and fiance Grover were anticipating getting married this September.

Griffin is survived by her father Rev. David L. Hellams, Pastor Emeritus of Mt. Emmanuel Missionary Baptist Church in Greenville; her fiance; two sisters Polly Peterson and Cindy Griffin; and a host of other family and friends.

On a personal note, Griffin was a dear friend with a vibrant spirit, a larger than life personality and a down-to-earth disposition. She was loyal, charming and endeared me with her use of the word "baby!" I genuinely can not express how devastated I am by her death! My prayers go out to her family, friends and to her fiancé.

To be "absent from the body" is to be "present with the Lord" (2 Cor. 5:8).

Lamman Rucker: 'Meet The Browns' Star Selling Forplai To Women

Actor Lamman Rucker is taking a page from Tyler Perry and flexing his entrepreneurial muscle!

The star of the TBS series 'Meet the Browns' has unveiled his new body care line for women and couples called Forplai, which he premiered at a launch event in Dallas during NBA All-Star Weekend.

"My ultimate goal for the line is for it to be a brand that women and couples use regularly and integrate into their daily routine of body care, health and wellness. The true vision behind Forplai is for it to be a tool that encourages people to have purity, passion, peace and power in their lives. Forplai is about self-love, intimacy and positive affirmation," the actor told BV Buzz about the product.

The 38-year-old talent is also starring in a new off-Broadway production called 'Black Angels Over Tuskegee' that opened at New York City's St. Luke's Theater on Feb. 15.

The narrative explores the lives of six men who struggle through the Jim Crow era and emerge with distinction as the first African-American pilots in the U.S. Army Air Forces. Rucker depicts the life of an ex-boxer turned Tuskegee Airman in the production written and directed by Layon Gray.

"Wait until you see it, it's really good," he said excitedly.

The Pittsburg-born talent recently appeared on the hit VH1 reality series 'Let's Talk About Pep.' On the episode, the former 'All My Children' star had a dialogue with his friend, news journalist Jacque Reid about potentially being a sperm donor for her.

"They cut out my full statement to her. The conversation she and I had was edited. It wasn't ever really a 'negotiation' for it to be specifically mine," he confessed. "As a close friend, I told her I'd be 'open to the conversation,' meaning that I wouldn't turn my back on her and would discuss that option and other options as it relates to her wanting a child. She is a beautiful, intelligent, successful sista who will be a great mother someday. Who wouldn't consider her?"

As far as 'Meet the Browns' is concerned, Rucker shared that while he hasn't been given a synopsis of what to expect in their next season, he believes that things will continue to evolve for his TV family.

"I have the feeling that their family dynamic will soon change. I'm estimating that [my character] Will and [my wife] Sasha will eventually move out of the house and have our own house. They'll have more kids and they'll have plenty of challenging scenarios to deal with while keeping Brianna, Joaquin and Mr. Brown under control," he offered, before adding: "It will be a great new season, though, that's for sure!"

Rucker also stars in the upcoming film 'Why Did I Get Married Too,' the sequel to Tyler Perry's 2007 blockbuster 'Why Did I Get Married.'

True Trailblazers: BMI Honors Donnie McClurkin & Andrae Crouch

BV Buzz was on hand when BMI, the U.S. music rights organization recognized gospel superstars Donnie McClurkin and Andraé Crouch during their annual BMI Trailblazers Awards during the Stellar Awards weekend in Nashville.

The BMI Trailblazers Awards is the hardest ticket to nab among the Stellar Award activities, which are typically held over the Martin Luther King, Jr. holiday weekend. The popularity of the awards luncheon has earned the shindig a likeness to Clive Davis' infamous pre-Grammy party.

McClurkin was saluted in song by 'Sunday Best' finalist Latice Crawford, Micah Stampley, Pastor Marvin Winans and Yolanda Adams, while DeWayne Woods and a collection of all-star session vocalists assisted with backgrounds.

Gospel artist Byron Cage hosted McClurkin's segment of the ceremony and artists serenaded the Grammy-winner with his hits 'I Call You Faithful,' 'Speak To Heart,' 'Stand' and 'We Fall Down.'

Adams then played the role of host during the tribute to Crouch, who is best known for gospel anthems like "The Blood Will Never Lose Its Power," "Through It All," "Bless His Holy Name," and "My Tribute," which has been performed by more than 600 artists all over the world. Additionally, the 67-year-old legend has a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame and has contributed songs to films like 'The Color Purple,' 'The Lion King' and wrote Michael Jackson's hit 'Will You Be There' for the movie 'Free Willy.'

Donald Lawrence featuring Blanche McAllister, BeBe & CeCe, TaTa Vega, Mary Mary and Pastor Winans performed an assortment of Crouch's church staples during the tribute.

Dorinda Clark Cole of The Clark Sisters joined BMI's Catherine Brewton to present songwriter Derrick Starks with an award for penning Cole's 'Take It Back,' BMI's "Most Performed Gospel Song of the Year." Cole then performed the foot-stomping number for the crowd.

The Trailblazer Awards also featured a performance by 'Sunday Best' finalist Jessica Reedy, who performed 'God Has Smiled On Me.'

The BMI Trailblazer Awards will air as a television special on the Gospel Music Channel on Sunday, Feb. 21 at 8pm EST.

Faith Evans: Singer Talks About Her Hiatus From Music & Upcoming Reality Show

When news broke that Hip-Hop's First Lady Faith Evans was readying new music and a reality show, the entertainment business was buzzing with excitement.

The former Sean "Puffy" Combs protégé, who released three CDs for Bad Boy Entertainment - 1995's 'Faith,' 1998's 'Keep the Faith' and 2001's 'Faithfully' - has not dropped a new album since her 2005 Capitol Records release, 'The First Lady.'

The Grammy winner admitted in an exclusive interview with BV Buzz that she never expected to be gone as long as she was.

"It's been five years," she told BV Buzz. "I didn't intend for it to be this long. It's not like I had a time in mind."

Evans, whose life with the late rapper Notorious B.I.G. was depicted in the blockbuster film 'Notorious,' said her role as a wife and mother took precedent to her recording career and was the main reason she had been out of the limelight.

"My career is a big part of my life, but it's not my life," she expressed. "I got four kids and that in itself alone was the main reason I took time off. I've had to take care of home and keep things in order there first before I could even consider doing music again. For me to be able to take the time to do this, I had to plant something with them. I couldn't give the attention to projects like this and not give them their attention and stay on top of things the way I needed to."

The 36-year-old talent acknowledges that a lot has changed in the music business over the half of decade she's been away, but the questionable state of the industry has not deterred a from making her return now.

"I don't feel apprehensive at all. There are a group of people out there, no matter how big or small that are waiting for my record. When people see me out at the baseball games and at the grocery stores, they inquire about my music and that makes me feel good. It lets me know that they're still waiting and that makes me excited. I work based on my heart and how people make me feel," she offered, before adding: "And I'm believing 100 percent that it will be well worth the wait."

In addition to her CD release later this year on E1 Entertainment, Evans struck a separate deal with E1 Television in partnership with Ten2One Entertainment for a reality show called 'It's All About Faith.'

"Faith is singer, author, mother, wife, and now an entrepreneur. The way she balances it all amazes me and I constantly call her Superwoman. I have been telling her for years that her life was worthy a reality show. I'm honored to be co-producing this show with her and E1 Entertainment," said Ten2One Entertainment partner Phil Thornton.

Evans, who recently participated in the remake of 'We Are The World,' shared that the deal she and husband/manager Todd Russaw struck with E1 Entertainment was an unconventional one.

"I met an executive for E1 when I taped my appearance on MTV's 'G's to Gents.' We had been talking about doing a deal on the music side. Then Phil introduced me to an executive from E1 Television, which is based out of Canada. She had read my memoir and knew my story and thought it would be good for a television show. So I ended up doing two separate deals with the same company. Now both the music and television departments are coming together to work with me," she explained.

The singer said her show will focus on more than her family life, it will also show her launching several business ventures and penning a follow-up to her New York Times bestselling tome, 'Keep the Faith: A Memoir.'

"I know people are interested in what my kids are doing, but the show isn't so much about following my family life," she said. "It will however show me being a businesswoman. I'm partnering with a good friend of mine, Richard Glass that has a high-end line of hair care products that are only now sold in the Venice Beach, Santa Monica and Malibu areas of California. We're working to take the brand national and get the line to the masses. It's a really amazing product. I've also got some other business ventures in the works. I'm also working on a new book, which is basically a guide book for songwriters and those who are new the music business. So the show will feature that, as well as me working on my music."

Before we wrapped our interview and Evans returned back to the booth to lay some vocals - she spoke to BV Buzz from her recording studio in Los Angeles - the singer confessed that it feels good to be back in work mode again.

"I've transitioned and it feels great! Sometimes you got to do things that make sense in the bigger picture for you, even though the fans and the public may not always understand," she closed.

Evans forthcoming CD will be released on her own imprint, Prolific Music Group via E1 Music later this year.

E1 Television is currently negotiating with various networks for her series, 'It's All About Faith.'

Buzz Exclusive: Heather Headley Has A Boy

BV Buzz has learned exclusively that R&B star Heather Headley quietly gave birth on Dec. 1, 2009 to a healthy baby boy.

The singer and her husband, former NFL star Brian Musso, named their son John David.

"I am so excited and humbled and in love. Having him puts everything in perspective. Everything is perfect in the world," she told BV Buzz.

The Tony Award-winning singer just won her first Grammy Award for her inspirational CD, 'Audience of One' for Best Contemporary R&B Gospel Album.

The Trinidadian-born star said she was unaware that she was even nominated for a Grammy, because the announcements came the day after she gave birth.

"I kept getting all of these congratulatory emails and I was wondering what they were congratulating me about. It took me three days to realize it was about the Grammys," she explained.

Headley's first single off of 'Audience of One' was a remake of the Lionel Richie classic, 'Jesus Is Love,' which was recorded as a duet with label mate Smokie Norful.

Her record company, EMI Gospel, is deciding on a second single from the CD to service to radio in the coming months.

Additionally, they are currently coordinating a Mother's Day campaign for the first-time mom to spearhead as well.

Headley was previously signed to RCA Records under the direction of Clive Davis, where she released two projects, 2002's gold-certified 'This Is Who I Am' and 2006's gold-certified 'In My Mind.'

Pooch Hall: Talks 'Stomp The Yard 2' & Whether 'The Game' Will Air On BET

Pooch Hall made a name for himself as Derwin on the now defunct CW sitcom, 'The Game.'

Despite the show's über-loyal fan base and more than a million viewers campaigning to save the series, the CW canceled the show last May.

Shortly thereafter, the 33-year-old actor landed a recurring role on the CBS series 'Accidentally on Purpose.'

Next up for Hall is a starring role in the sequel to the 2007 blockbuster, 'Stomp the Yard.'

BV Buzz caught up with the Brockton, Mass.-bred actor on the Atlanta set of 'Stomp the Yard 2: The Homecoming.' In addition to discussing his role in the film, Hall addressed whether he believed 'The Game' would go into overtime on BET.

How'd you end up landing the role of Dane in 'Stomp The Yard 2: The Homecoming?'

Like any other project, you go on auditions. As an actor, you're always looking for what's next. After my show 'The Game' I went right to 'Accidentally on Purpose,' which is on CBS now and we just got picked. They had to clear it with Paramount for me to do the film. I went in and auditioned for 'Stomp the Yard: 2' and at that point and time my work allowed me to get a real good look in the audition because my dance steppin' wasn't all that good. The only dancing I ever did was in the boxing right. I'm fluid and being an athlete has allowed me to learn and adapt.

So after you landed the role, what type of preparation did you have for the dancing and steppin' in the film?

They had me doing three weeks of training with Chuck Maldonado and his team. We just got it in puttin' it in on six to eight hour days and I actually got hurt a little bit when I strained my hip.

So dancing is no joke, huh? You got injured like the folks on 'Dancing with the Stars' do!

Let me let the world know that it's not a game. Those people are athletes and you get hurt in dancing. When it's all said and done it's amazing. I know why people go to recitals and that type of stuff. I'm still not as fluid as Columbus Short, but give me another month and I might be able to keep up.

Had you experienced life at a historically Black college prior to your work on this film?

I went to UMass Dartmouth. Spike Lee told me, 'You have to go and get the research when you get an opportunity to play a character. You have to get as much information on that character or the environment of what you're involved in.' I was very fortunate to be a part of Howard University's homecoming. Columbus Short, Ludacris and Taraji Henson were all there and I got to see first hand what the experience was like. I was at Howard's homecoming when I got the news [that I landed this role]. There were about 200 film students and I was talking to a couple of the film students on a panel and they asked me what my next project was and when I told them it was 'Stomp the Yard 2' everyone erupted. To be out on the yard and see the energy, passion and the history, I took that into what we're doing on this movie. Unfortunately that was the only experience I had with a Black college, but I hope that a lot of the choices that we're doing will be spot on, but I have to give props to Rob Hardy because he's making sure that we're not leaving a scene until we get it.

How different was your experience at UMass from what you've learned transpires at Black colleges?

As far as the comparisons, it's two different worlds. It's just like two different flavors. When I was at Howard's homecoming I saw that the students, faculty and people that were visiting were really excited to be there and be a part of history. I felt that way too because this is a historically Black college that I finally made it to. I can see the passion that everybody had putting on an event. I didn't get to get into the curriculum or academics, but I felt like the people who are going here obviously know because they are there, but I didn't know if I was ready to go Atlanta yet. It was really something special though. I think this movie is gonna be something that will solidify its place in film and Black history. It's just a real good film!

You know I have to ask about 'The Game.' I've been covering this show and its cancellation extensively and have to know, do you think there's any possibility that BET will make the deal happen to bring it there?

From what I hear they're close and if they're not close, I haven't heard no. Hosea Chanchez who plays Malik was here yesterday visiting and that's the type of relationship that we have. He came by and hung out with us for a little bit. Every now and then we'll ask each other if we've heard anything about the show. I want to give 'The Game' mad props because sometimes people get mad at the CW for cancelling us, but I give them love because they allowed me to have a home for three years to hone my skills for the industry to be like, 'who is this Pooch kid?' I give props to 'The Game' because what it did for me as an actor was allowing me to go into all of these different emotions and ranges that you go through. Some people can be on a show for ten years and not do what I did in the three years as far as work. I also have to give props to Mara Brock-Akil because she didn't want anybody walking away saying 'The Game' didn't put it down.
