Red Carpet Ready: Sheryl Lee Ralph Tapped Host Oscar Coverage
Actress Sheryl Lee Ralph will co-host CNN and HLN's pre and post-show coverage of the 2011 Academy Awards with HLN anchor A.J. Hammer.

"I am so excited," Ralph exclaimed to BlackVoices.com. "I'm that little girl who grew up dreaming about being there where all the world's stars showed up in all their regalia and retinues! And this year I get a chance to be there offering my thoughts and opinions on the worlds network, CNN and HLN!"

The 55-year-old talent, who has also appeared in films like 'Sister Act 2: Back in the Habit,' 'The Mighty Quinn,' 'The Distinguished Gentleman' and 'The Flintstones,' is now trying to decide which designer to wear to the Oscars.

"Hmm, yeah baby, now whSheryl Lee Ralphat will I wear," she laughed.

The former star of the sitcom 'Moesha' was recently in a car accident, but says her injuries won't keep her from showing up to the Oscars.

"I was rear-ended in a car accident last week," she explained. "But I am under the care of the best physical therapist in the world and he assures me that I will be glamtastic – even if I have to wear a diamond studded neck brace!"

Ralph has postponed her new production, 'Love Yourself: Music & Monologues,' a show she's written about domestic violence. Originally slated to debut on Feb. 26 at The Painted Bride in Philadelphia, the show will now premiere on March 26.

The actress is married to Pennsylvania Senator Vincent Hughes.
