The top-grossing comedy tour, which featured Steve Harvey, Cedric the Entertainer, D.L. Hughley and the late Bernie Mac, kicked off in 1997 and was shot for a feature film directed by Spike Lee in 2000.
Now BlackVoices.com has learned that producers of the franchise approached funnyman Kevin Hart about joining the roster of the forthcoming revival tour alongside Harvey, Hughley and Cedric the Entertainer.
A rep for Hart confirmed that discussions were underway with 'The Original Kings of Comedy' but would not elaborate on the matter.
The entertainment company that produces the tour tweeted that they "know nothing about" Hart joining the show.
The 31-year-old 'Soul Plane' star has become one of the most popular African American stand-up comedians in the business.
Hart recently starred in a very successful Comedy Central special, 'Seriously Funny,' and the Philadelphia-bred talent has been approached by a major film studio about turning his stand-up tour "Laugh at My Pain" into a feature film.
On the acting front, he has starred in movies like 'Little Fockers,' 'Not Easily Broken,' 'The 40-Year-Old Virgin' and 'Death at a Funeral.'
Hart is also the first comedian to land an endorsement deal with Brand Jordan and is currently featured opposite Miami Heat star Dwayne Wade in television commercials for AIR Jordan.

God bless Bernie Mack... I so badly wanted to see bernie perform in person, but he never came to NYC. Then the unthinkable happened with his untimely death, left me crushed. Know one can replace bernie but I believe Kevin hart would not disappoint bernie or the fans. I will be the first in line for this show. I pray it's done in nyc.

I love Kevin Hart, but Bernie Mac should be replaced with someone who's been in the game for a longer amount of time. I was thinking Martin, Chris Rock, or Eddie Murphy

Kevin Hart is HILARIOUS! He would be perfect for the tour. Nobody can replace Bernie but there are a lot of good talent out there? I say, Donnell Rawlings should join! I don't see him on the list? If any of you get a chance watch his stand up performance doing "Ashy to Classy". "Take it in the FACE"! LOL!!!
It would be nice if ALL includin STEVE and have a new Comedy Tour with new talented comedians. It's time for some new faces.

Bernie is a hard act to follow but I think you could add Lavell Crawford to the list, he's a talented guy who doesn't get enough opportunities.

Kevin Hart: Will He Replace Bernie Mac on 'The Original Kings of Comedy' Tour?....
Wrong choice of words...NO ONE ON GOD'S GREEN EARTH COULD EVER....EVER...EVEREVEREVER REPLACE THE MAC MAN!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Now is he worthy to JOIN the King Of Comedy Tour...Sure he is...and so are a few others...I would like to see Mike Epps join them...I think his style of comedy would be perfect for the tour.
