According to her recent interview with Zap2it.com, the 42-year-old reality TV star is uncertain about her future with the franchise.
"I'm not really interested in joining the next season," Leakes confessed. "I'm just not really interested right now."
Leakes went on to tell the Web portal that she wants to "focus on being an independent woman."
The married mother of two said she's developing a shoe line, working on a handbag line, appearing on her local Atlanta entertainment segments and has plans to go behind the scenes producing radio and TV shows.
In 2009, there was buzz the both Leakes and co-star Kim Zolciak could be leaving the show due to contract negotiations. (Read: 'Real Housewives of Atlanta: NeNe Leakes & Kim Zolciak May Not Return for Season 3.') In the end, contract negotiations worked out.
BlackVoices.com reached out to Leakes directly about her future with the show. At press time, she had not replied.
Season three of 'Real Housewives of Atlanta' will wrap on Jan. 23.
The two-part cast reunion will air on Jan. 30 and Feb. 6.
Leakes will be among the contestants on season four of Donald Trump's 'Celebrity Apprentice,' beginning in March.

When I look around at the ( new) celebrity world these reality so called star's are all cut from the same cloth, they seem not to have anything different, the hair,clothes and the mean spirit, they seem not to have an (estabished hook) that is long lasting. This is the new money maker, and making money is a good thing. The reality show's seem's to be a good fit for people with no talent, I wonder how they get founded?
NeNe is very loud and her loudness is profitable for her, she should ride the train until the power's put her off the reality train when her brand of loudness is no longer fashionable.

The modern day Mammy is back! The loud, over-opinionated black woman has reinvented itself by us. We commonly complain about "white folks" but they're now like the rest of us-they just sit back and watch. The bible says all things will pass-all money "ain't" good money! So the black girl with the blonde wig remains the joke.

You do have a point. NeNe shows her immaturity quite often on the show. She should be embarrassed by the way she acted on the tour bus and at Kim's "friend's" mansion. I was embarrassed for her.

Her husband hasn't looked happy, like forever, poor man, I don't want to believe he is afraid of her. And I truly feel sorry for her boys if she acts anywhere near that loud and (crazy) at home, leopards don't change their spots, She is really too good at being a crazed out of control bitch if things don't go her way.
