Dr. Marc Lamont Hill is the new host of the news magazine series 'Our World With Black Enterprise.'
The 30-minute weekly program airs in national syndication on weekends, as well as on the TV One cable network.
"I'm excited by the opportunity to take over the reigns of 'Our World,'" Hill told BV Buzz. "The show has set an incredible standard for representing, informing and inspiring our community. I want to continue that tradition by bringing the show to the next generation of viewers."
The Philadelphia-bred cultural anthropologist, who regularly offers political and social commentaries on networks like CNN, Fox News and MSNBC, makes his hosting debut when 'Our World' kicks off its new season on Oct. 2.
Hill, who is also a professor at Columbia University, is the author of the book 'Beats, Rhymes, and Classroom Life: Hip-Hop Pedagogy, and the Politics of Identity.'
'Our World With Black Enterprise' premiered in 2006. The show was previously hosted by Emmy Award-winning journalist Ed Gordon, who left the series this year to return to BET Networks' news division.

Who agrees with Dr. Hill's positions? I think his positions are just as vile as conservative positions. I think the foundation of both of those trains of thoughts, I know both of those trains of thoughts were originated from Caucasian Americans who did not wish to see Africans in America as their equals. Therefore, what new ideas will Dr. Hill offer?

some on here will be suprised I am in agreement with you that there is too much emphasis on color.
In the same breath though look at CNN and other "white" media entities because that is all you see.

Seriously? I honestly don't see anything wrong with the production or the name of this show. There doesn't have to be a show titled "Our world with the White Enterprise", because there are a bunch of those shows that already exist. Quit being so narrowminded and resentful. If your sick of the "black theme"-quit coming to the Black Voices section on AOL.

And the idiot who says there are a lot of White media entities? Sure there are, but you never hear them with "White" in their title. That would be racist, wouldn't it?
