Signing Off: D.L. Hughley Quits Morning Radio Show
Comedian D.L. Hughley has officially ended his morning radio show on New York City's WRKS (98.7 FM), better known as Kiss-FM.

The 'Kings of Comedy' star, who launched the show on July 20, 2009, gave the station its two-week notice at the end of July, a source close to the show tells BV Buzz.

The 47-year-old comic had been embroiled in a peculiar behind-the-scenes battle after not being paid by the show's owners after nearly six months of being on the air.

In January, Hughley partnered with WRKS' parent company, Emmis Broadcasting, and sued the syndication company URBan Radio, the actual owners of the 'D.L. Hughley Morning Show.'

Then URBan filed a countersuit against Emmis, claiming that their contract was valid and WRKS owed URBan $800,000 in commercial time and 168 commercial minutes a week. The syndication company also sought $2.5 million in damages.

Hughley decided to end his run on New York radio after more than a year, despite the ongoing litigation.

"He still hasn't been paid," said the source. "It's amazing he worked that long without compensation!"

TV and radio personality Jacque Reid and comedian Steve Wilson rounded out the 'D.L. Hughley Morning Show' on-air team.

The Los Angeles native, who continues to tour the country as a sought-after standup comic, still provides a weekly commentary on the nationally syndicated 'Tom Joyner Morning Show.'

It was also just announced that Hughley will guest star on CBS's 'Hawaii Five-O.'
