In 2008, the 47-year-old star of 'Blade' was found guilty of not filing tax returns from 1999 to 2001 and therefore failing to pay the government nearly $12,000,000 in taxes.
Snipes was sentenced to 36 months in prison but declared the sentence was "unreasonable" and filed the appeal.
On Friday, in a 35-page decision, the United States Court of Appeals for the 11th Circuit affirmed the original ruling and dismissed Snipes' claims that his punishment was too severe. It has not been determined when Snipes will turn himself in to begin his sentence.
Snipes recently starred in the film 'Brooklyn's Finest' and has wrapped production on two other films, 'Gallowwalker' and 'Game of Death,' which will be released next year.

Speak for yourself. Though some of what you've expressed I can certainly understand, it is an untrue statement to even imply that all of the potential problems that plague the black community have somehow led to ultimate feelings of inferiority? I don't think so - if anything, having been a product of the civil rights movement made me a perpetrator of reverse racism and severe feelings of superiority. It wasn't til I was older and more well rounded as a person that I realized feeling superior to whites (or anyone else, for that matter) wasn't right either.
Lets try to keep things in perspective and deal with the issues at hand as they're brought to our attention.
Mr. Snipes' ego appears to have been bigger than his desire to follow the law. But, I'm not ready to dismiss us as a race because of this individual or any group of individuals who haven't figured out yet how to respect themselves or others.
Those of us who represent the majority will not be discouraged by the acts of the minority.

That was so insightful and it is too bad that many people could not be this intelligent and thank you for that. I am sorry to hear he did not pay up , Richard Hatch did something similar to this and was arrested and served jail time, I think Mr. Snipes woudl serve better doing public service with the assets he has. Not everyone needs to do jail time. He could set a good example. Mr. Doanld Pierce.

Give the "race" card a rest already. We are all equal people and slavery was a long time ago. just focus on the issues. Be colorblind people. Give it a rest!!

The only race we should see in these times is the human race. Many of each ethnicity has helped those of other ethnicity's, and those of different religious beliefs. I believe that many laws are unfair, we as a society put more emphasis on money crimes than we do to physical ones against humans. There have been many people serve no more time for manslaughter than Snipes was given. Should he go to jail, yes, but a year would be sufficient to send this message. He will have to cough up the money along with fines and interest anyway so why give that amount of jail time. In this day and age those who bash other ethnicity's are just trouble makers that usually have no direction in their lives. When a person who has no self worth feels they are losing an argument they usually revert to bashing or cussing, usually in a loud tone when audible.

That's just it though.....your way of thinking is not the majority. Your way of thinking sounds like someone who blames no one else and looks to no one else for accountability. Sadly, that's not the thoughts of the majority.

@ONYX...
Very well said!!
Some people just have a hard time(or actually just refusing to) understanding that ONE PERSON DOES NOT REPRESENT A WHOLE RACE.

Wesley Snipes is a victim of illegal and unconstitutional Laws of extortion and false imprisonment.
The true criminals is the federal reserve and the IRS.
Wesley Snipes is a true Patriot standing up to a illegal law made by a corrupt system.
It is not just black people that are victims of these laws its all the people.
Including white.

coolfrayfruge,
So true, we all have to yield to the powers of the IRS. The alternative? Going to prison just like Mr. Snipes, who believed he was above reporting income & paying his taxes. I don't feel sorry for this nimrod one bit.
Earth to Wesley:
You are not Nicholas Cage or any other white celebrity that can brazenly ignore paying taxes but STILL walk around to talk about it. As you can see Wesley, they'll lock your black ass up in a New York minute if you think you can cheat them & get away with it.
