When Internet rumors surfaced about a Destiny's Child reunion, BV Buzz reported that there wasn't going to be a reunion after we received a statement from Music World Entertainment CEO Mathew Knowles, who shot down the report.
(Read: 'Destiny's Child: No Reunion in the Works.')
Well, according to founding member Kelly Rowland, Knowles is not the one who will be making that decision.
"Mathew Knowles is not a member of Destiny's Child," Rowland said in a video interview with gossip blogger Perez Hilton. "With all due respect, that's not a decision he can make. It would be amongst myself, Beyonce and Michelle."

In other Rowland news, the Houston-bred singer will release her third solo CD later this year on Motown Records.
The CD's first single, 'Commander,' is a smash internationally, and her U.S. single, 'Rose Colored Glasses,' just went for adds at radio.

I see that most people responded that Matthew Knowles shouldn't have released a statement because he is not a member. Let's not forget that although he no longer manages Kelly or Michele, he does still manage Beyonce who basically IS Destiny's Child with whatever two or three singers that are willing to fill the role as her backups. Managers of artist make these types of statements all the time. Granted, she is right that he can't make the decision as to whether they will reunite for an album, but it is within his scope of responsibility to comment on the future plans of his artist.

Actually. Mathew Knowles no longer manages Beyonce. It would be cool to see a Destiny Child reunion.

Actually he doesn't manage Beyonce anymore either. After the divorce was filed for, it is said that Beyonce "fired" him as her manager then.

Michael shut up dude. If he did still manage beyonce' so what. He's not the boss of none of them. They're grown woman. Its not his decision to decide rather Destiny will reunite or not. I'm so sick of people saying beyonce makes Destiny's Child. No she does'nt. Kelendria Rowland has just as much to do with the start of them as Beyonce'. It was Matthew's money that started them. Beyonce said herself years ago. If it was'nt for Kelly pushing us there would be no group. So shut up.

Wow, Rizz, you like Kelly so much that you can't read or comprehend simple English. My post clearly says, "he can't make the decision as to whether they will reunite for an album." Secondly, no one said Kelly didn't have anything to do with the start of Destiny's Child. However, you may want to go back and listen to your Destiny's Child albums, watch the videos, or refer to "Kelendria's" album or tour sales and then argue with me about how important she is to the group and the general public's interest in her and her career. I'm not hating on your girl, just stating the facts as the vast majority of folks see it. I won't end the post with a "shut up" like you did because that's childish, but take it easy and keep supporting Kells.

It is alleged that he was fired, but I haven't heard nor can I find an official source that says that rumor was confirmed by either Beyonce or Matthew Knowles. As of now, there are still more reputable sites listing him as her manager than there are sites claiming he isn't...and no one has provided a name of his replacement as manager which would make the change seem more credible. In any case, her liner notes and official website says he and she executive produced I Am...Sasha Fierce. So, even if he isn't her "manager," he still has an active enough role in her career and life to make a comment about what he knows to be her future plans in relation to the group.

This was a train wreck waiting to happen. Unfortunately Matthew Knowles was driving the train.
IMO, Matthew calculated success for Beyonce by starting DC and getting her foot in the door. Once that happened all the other girls were collateral damage. Look where Beyonce was at all times--in the middle.
MN has done nothing to promote the careers of anyone else but his daughter. How selfish is that? In the past, each time Kelly or Michelle had a project coming out it was suddenly halted if Beyonce had something coming up. Anyone could see what he was doing. Why weren't Kelly or Michelle in any movies? Where's their exposure?
The original DC girls who sued Matthew and all that dirt came out about him, were on the money. This man is ruthless and had ulterior motives.

Oh puh-Leez!!! Kelly only made that so-called "BOLD" statement towards Mathew Knowles, because she knows Beyonce is angry and refusing to speak to her father right now. I GUARANTTE if her girl Bey was not angry with her dad, Kelly would be kissing behind and co-signing everything that came out of Mathew Knowles mouth, like she's ALWAYS done in the past. Now let's get real!!
