Precious 'View': Gabourey Sidibe to Co-Host ABC Talk Show

Oscar nominee Gabourey Sidibe has been tapped to guest-host the ABC talk show 'The View' on Tuesday, May 4.

The star of 'Precious,' who is fresh off a hosting stint on NBC's 'Saturday Night Live,' will join 'The View' regulars: Whoopi Goldberg, Joy Behar, Sherri Shepherd and Elizabeth Hasselbeck.

The 26-year-old star last appeared on 'The View' in February.

During her promotional stop then, Sidibe talked about meeting boxer Mike Tyson at an awards ceremony.

"I think it was the Golden Globes. Mike Tyson was there because he's in 'The Hangover.' I didn't realize but I'm terrified of Mike Tyson! I saw him on the carpet, and I was with Jill, my manager, and I was like, 'Jill, don't move. Don't move.' I stood there and let him walk by me. I'm sure he's a very nice man, but there's something about a face tattoo. I'm serious. Face tattoos say I've gone as far as I want to in society and, in fact, I think I want to take a few steps back," she told the co-hosts.

Co-host Goldberg told Glamour magazine in a recent interview that she would love for Sidibe to portray her in a movie.

"I'd love Gabby Sidibe to do it because that's a girl with spirit. And in order to play Whoopi Goldberg, you'd have to have a spirit," the Oscar winning talent told the glossy.

Next up for Sidibe is a part on the Showtime series 'The Big C,' as well as a role in the feature film, 'Yelling to the Sky.'
