90's R&B group SWV (Sisters With Voices) has a fresh look and is readying new music.
The New Jack Swing trio, made up of Cheryl "Coko" Clemons, Tamara "Taj" George and Leanne "LeLee" Lyons, recently completed a new photo shoot with acclaimed photographer Derek Blanks.
"Shooting with Derek was amazing! He's such a nice guy and easy to work with. He knows how to really make you feel and look beautiful while shooting," said lead vocalist, Coko.
Best known for hits like 'Weak,' 'Right Here,' 'Rain,' and 'I'm So Into You,' SWV is currently on the 'New Jack Reunion Tour' with Blackstreet, Keith Sweat, Bell Biv Devoe, After 7 and Tony! Toni! Toné.
After more than 13 years since they've released a group CD – both 'Release Some Tension' and 'A Special Christmas' dropped in 1997 – SWV has been in the studio recording new music with producers like Carvin & Ivan (Jazmine Sullivan/Chris Brown), Shep Crawford (Tamia/Deborah Cox) and Kelly Price.
"The music is coming together nicely. It feels really good to be singing with my girls again and I think our fans are really going to enjoy the songs. I can't wait for folks to hear the music," Coko offered.
In addition to dates with SWV, Coko has been promoting her sophomore gospel CD, 'The Winner In Me.' Her Grammy-nominated debut gospel release, 'Grateful' was released in 2006 and featured Fantasia, Faith Evans and Lil' Mo.

Finally! The return of good music, and not this watered down, studio processed, auto tuned stuff that's out now. I just hope it's well worth the wait. In the music industry, apparently when you leave for a while it takes more than a notion to just "get back in there" I applaud these ladies for coming back. Now all we need is for Lauryn Hill to come back and then I'll be straight!

Ok, it's nice to see them back but, have they crossed back over from gospel to R&B? Is this the image they want to show in the above pic? The clothes are nice but Taj is showing too much. I hope they sing songs that are appropriate not songs like "Downtown". I hope their music is mature and respectful? Yes, they are either married or have kids but I hope they will stay true and sing for the love of music not for the attention and $$$$? I hope they will have time for their kids and family? I mean, tours, appearances, photo shoots, ect.. you can get caught up? I can see if their children were all grown up to get back into the game? That's my opinion.

Hey Nicole,
That's my JOB! This is what I was feeling and this is how I made comment. I'm not knocking them but hope they don't disappoint fans and do it for the love of music. Hopefully, they all can work it out with their personal family life and balance everything? Yes, it's nice to see a come back with different groups, as long as they are all in it together and stay committed.
