Oscar nominee Gabourey Sidibe has landed another gig!
The star of 'Precious' has been tapped to host an upcoming episode of 'Saturday Night Live!' according to E! News.
NBC has not confirmed the news, but E! is reporting that Sidibe will follow already scheduled hosts Jennifer Lopez, Tina Fey, Betty White and Ryan Phillippe.
Sidibe, who won both an NAACP Image Award and an Independent Spirit Award for her role in 'Precious,' will be the second African-American host of 'SNL' this year.
NBA Hall of Famer
and TNT analyst Charles Barkley hosted the show on January 9.
The news of the 26-year-old landing the 'SNL' job comes on the heals of the controversy about Howard Stern and his sidekick Robin Quivers criticizing Sidibe because of her weight and questioning whether she deserved her Academy Award nomination for her work in 'Precious.'

In addition to her hosting 'SNL,' Sidibe also has a recurring role on Showtime's forthcoming series 'The Big C.' The Brooklyn-bred talent plays a sassy student on the Laura Linney series, which premieres in August.

I appreciate her talent but she should first be fighting for her life by losing weight and urging others to do the same. Obesity is one of the fasting growing killers in America, and affects black Americans disproportionately. Obese people suffer diabetes, heart attacks, high blood pressure, strokes and a cascaed of other illnesses. Obesity is not sexy or cute, it is dangerous and destructive. This image is being pushed now as it was in the past on black women by designe. In the past it was "Mammy", today it is Gabby. She may sweet and adorable. But in a few years she will be gone if this isn't dealt with. Black Americans need real leadership and educating on the forces that are destroying them.

From the lack of comments I guess a lot of black people are not feeling SNL. I have no intention of watching I'm no fan of SNL or Sidibe. I for one am tired of seeing morbidity obese black women on TV and movies. As far as SNL is concern the fact that they have a white man in black face doing a bad impression of President Obama is enough for me to avoid this crap show.
