Season two 'American Idol' finalist Kimberley Locke is single again!
After two years of dating 'Celebrity Fit Club' fitness coach Harvey Walden, the couple recently broke up.
"He's not my husband or my boyfriend. We didn't make it," Locke told BV Buzz during Disney's Dreamers Academy at Walt Disney World.
(Read: 'Reality Romance: Kimberly Locke Falls For 'Celebrity Fit Club' Coach.')
Walden, like Locke, was on hand for the event in Orlando, but the singer was quick to point out: "We are here for the children, but we're not together."
The couple was just featured in the February issue of Ebony magazine in a spread on high-profile couples.
"It happened so fast. You know, stuff happens," Locke added about the timing of it all, before breaking into the chorus of Beyonce's 'Single Ladies (Put A Ring On It)' and doing the hand gesture: "If you like it then you should have put a ring on it/Uh, uh, oh!"
In addition to being newly single, the 32-year-old talent shared that she is no longer on Curb Records. Locke released three solo CDs on Curb including 2004's 'One Love' and 2007's 'Based on a True
Story' and 'Christmas.'
The Hartsville, Tenn.-born singer has signed a new deal with 'American Idol' judge Randy Jackson.
"I have a new single coming out called 'Strobe Light.' It's a dance song that he produced," she said.
Locke said being at Walt Disney World speaking to the kids at Disney's Dreamers Academy reminded her of her time on 'American Idol.'
"You learn a lot of through trial and error unfortunately. You really kind of have to – and I'd hate to say it – but you almost have to be cocky about it. You have to be certain! Just because there is a Simon [Cowell] on a panel who has a bigger name than you, you might be compelled to believe everything he says. But the truth of the matter is, if something doesn't sit right within you and within your spirit and doesn't line up with what you're trying to do or the direction you're trying to go in; let it go, get rid of it and don't even entertain it. That's something that these kids will need to learn for themselves. They'll need to tune in and try to be in one accord with themselves and God," she explained.
The former Jenny Craig spokesperson said she had to get tougher skin during her stint on 'Idol,' and it was actually her friend, 'American Idol' winner Ruben Studdard that helped her with it.
"That's the one thing I had to learn and it was Ruben who actually said it to me," she confessed. "He was like, 'You've got to let that mess go.' One night I came offstage and I was a mess because Simon never liked me and I was always in the bottom three. I remember going home that night, saying my prayers and saying, 'I got to let that go!' Because if you don't let it go, especially on 'American Idol,' it builds up and you can't be your best."
As far as 'Idol' is concerned, BV Buzz asked Locke if she thought the show could survive next year without Cowell.
"No," she declared. "Paula is gone. I think it's a lot of change!"

Kimberly Lock was a rebound chick. Surely she didn't think dude was going to marry her.
I agree that AI will not make it. It's not the same now that Paula is gone. Also, this year talent sucks. This is the worst season yet.

I have to agree w/ you Phyliss. The man wasn't even divorced when they initially started to have feelings for each other, and she suggested that they wait.
But who wants to jump right into another serious relationship right after coming out of a divorce? Not sure about the nature of that relationship, but still he needed some breathing room.
Someone should have been mature enough to say...hey lets just be friends for awhile. She was looking for a husband, and she found one, but he was someone else's husband.
I wish her success in the future thought, Harvey as well. You can obviously tell that he has a soft side to the rough exterior.

I wish Kimberley and Harvey the very best. Personaly I feel Kimberley had alot more to lose. than gain in that relationship. Steve Wonder could see that, may god be with the both of them

I think kimberely knows what she wants and if it was not going to go how she hope then she was smart to move on. Life is to short to be waiting on someone else to make a move that might never come.

Kimberley Locke is a sweetheart. I love her strong vocals. What I really love about her is she spends her free time helping children...... Kimberley I hope you find that special someone who wants to put a ring on it.

Kimberley uses people - plain and simple. Whichever way the wind blows, so goes Ms. Locke. She has used everyone she can -- Clay Aiken, Simon Fuller's son, Randy Jackson, and on and on. You can look it up. Her so-called talent has led to bookings on gay cruise ships, where she obliges her bois by singing in her underwear.
Scruples? Not so much. TALENT? You gotta be kidding me. Ms. Karaoke doesn't deserve any press. Stuff happens? I don't give a sh*t, Kim. You're really OLD news, honey.

Well, that's what happens when you are the mistress. Besides, didn't she date Simon Cowell for a split second?

I used to be a fan...but like someone else said, she's really damaged her reputation. I do believe she was partially responsible for the breakup of Walden's marraige. And the whole Clay thing didn't help her like she thought it would either. Oh well....former "Idols" seem to be a dime a dozen these days...

Every buddy makes bad decision in life. At least Kimberley was wise enough to end the relationship before children got involved. Harvey had a pot of gold in my opinion the guy is nuts. The women is 11 to 12 years younger, no kids, educated never and had never been married. Harvey was the fool never Kimberley. Am sure Harvey will find someone else he is a very popular man. Kimberley deserves nothing but the best and should not settle for less. I wish them both the best
