R&B duo Groove Theory are back together and are in the studio working on a new CD.
The group, made up of singer Amel Larrieux and producer Bryce Wilson released one self-titled CD in 1995 that spawned the gold-selling single 'Tell Me.'
The news of the group's reunion was confirmed to SoulSummer.com by the group's executive producer, Jimmy "Henchmen" Rosemond.
"It's going well," said Rosemond. "They haven't worked together in so long, and like most groups that break up, they've come into their own, so it's almost like sharing that spotlight again, but it's coming along. I'm excited."
Rosemond exp
ects new music from Groove Theory could be serviced to radio in as soon as two months.
Larrieux left the group in 1999 to pursue a solo career. Wilson replaced her with a new singer Makeba Davis.
Groove Theory's sophomore opus, 'The Answer' was slated to be released in 2000 but after asking to be released from their contract with Columbia Records, the project never saw the light of day.
Larrieux's debut solo CD, 'Infinite Possibilities' was released in 2000 on Epic Records. The set featured the singles 'Get Up' and 'Sweet Misery.'
In 2002, the New York City native was featured on the 'Barbershop' soundtrack on a duet with Glenn Lewis called 'What's Come Over Me.' Shortly thereafter Larrieux left Epic Records and launched the independent label BlissLife Records wit
h her husband.
She has since released three independent CDs; 2004's 'Bravebird,' 2006's 'Morning,' and 2007's 'Lovely Standards.'
Wilson, who was a part of the group Matronix prior to Groove Theory, focused on acting and music producing after Groove Theory disbanded.
The New York City-born producer/musician created hits for Beyonce, Amerie and Mary J. Blige; and on the acting front, he appeared in films like 'Beauty Shop,' 'Trois' and 'Hair Show.'

In my opinion, I just can't see any of the groups listed above reuniting? Maybe, it might be nice to see them doing a music tribute on a award show? I do like the fact, that Grove Theory is back together! That Amel is SO TALENTED and BEATIFUL! I can't wait!

I love Melsy. She is such a beautiful spirit. I like her as a solo artist though, but this should be nice. I would love to see Solo, Jade and Zhane reunite. Anything is possible if not, they provided us with great music in a time where there was diversity and an appreciation for it.
