R&B singer Brandy will avoid a civil trial for a December 2006 car crash that killed Awatef Aboudihaj.
The 'Full Moon' star has settled with the remaining plaintiff in the case, Aboudihaj's husband, though the terms of the settlement are sealed.
Back in June, the 'Moesha' star settled with Aboudihaj's two children, who each received $300,000.
A month later, in July, a settlement was reached with another injured driver, Mallory Ham.
BV Buzz also broke news in July that Brandy had been dropped by her label, Epic Records.
Despite initially denying the story, the 'Never Say Never' singer has since quietly parted with Epic. She also parted with her management company, Jay-Z's Roc Nation Management.

11/20/08: OutKast
Despite various setbacks, OutKast member Big Boi still has plans to release his sophomore album 'Sir Lucious Leftfoot: The Son of Chico Dusty.' And according to the rapper, the project's delay may very well be worth the wait. Big Boi recently revealed to 'MTV News' that in addition to his album being released in 2009, fans can also expect a solo release from Andre 3000 as well as a new OutKast album. "Me and 'Dre were on the conference call [recently]," he explained. "He's working on his album; my album is done. We're gonna wait until the top of the year - January or February - to put it out. Then 'Dre is gonna come hit y'all, and [then] we're gonna do the OutKast album. So y'all gonna get three records from the 'Kast next year." In the meantime fans can catch Big Boi on November 25 when he appears on an episode of 'Law & Order: Special Victims Unit.'
11/20/08: 50 Cent
You can now add 50 Cent's name alongside Big Boi and Keri Hilson for artist who have delayed their albums in 2009. Fifty, whose forthcoming album 'Before I Self Destruct' was originally scheduled for a December 6 release before being pushed back to December 16, is now tentatively set for February 3. "I'm trying to leave the same way I came in," he revealed to MTV. "February 4 [2003], 'Get Rich or Die Tryin' came out. I drop this album February 3. The time frame. It used to take six to eight weeks for us to position a hip-hop record. Now, it's taking 12 to 14 weeks." Although the rap mogul expressed his satisfaction with the album's current single 'Get Up,' he did mention that he's "just looking for the opportunity to present more of my material [prior to the album's release]. It's not the strongest effort on my album; it's just a great start for me."
11/20/08: Montell Jordan
Grammy Award-nominated singer Montell Jordan returns to the music scene with his new studio album 'Let It Rain.' The new project reflects a more grown and sexy side of the R&B singer, which is a huge difference from Jordan's earlier days as he describes. "Those people that understand that the time frame that my music was originally created are now a more grown and sexy group of people," he told Eurweb.com. "We went from the college era, and the party style to becoming adults, and so that's where my music is now." And to keep in touch with the adult side of partying, Jordan reached out to the "World's Greatest Entertainer" Doug E. Fresh for the album cut entitled, 'Left Alone.' 'Let It Rain' is in stores now.
11/20/08: Lupe Fiasco
Despite releasing his debut album 'Food & Liquor' in 2006, Chicago rapper Lupe Fiasco is looking to unplug his microphone following the release of his triple disc album entitled, 'LupEND.' The rapper recently made the announcement during his Halloween show in Chicago, explaining that the album's title stands for "everywhere," "nowhere" and "down here." "When you play a videogame, you can only put in three letters for your name and when the game's over, those three letters and 'END' pop up," he continued. "My next record might be my last one." Although Lupe is making plans to retire, there is no official word from his label, Atlantic Records, regarding a release date for the project.

Brandy, you are one of the best and most creative artists ever, and everybody who knows anytihng about music knows how much of a musical "beast" you are, especially with that incredible harmonic ear. I'm just praying, watching and waiting on God to sanctify you and for you come back to Him so that the sound that comes from you will glorify Him, because that's where you're being called...this stuff is not happening in your life just because...You know all too well to be on "Top of the World," with screaming fans (cause I was one of them in the past)...but then, you also know what it's like to have relatively failing albums and a downward spiral in the music industry. And all of this has been public. You know tragedy, but God is trying to get you to really and truly know HIM now...He wants you to see Him in the midst of these storms. He's trying to get your attention. You're being called by God Himself, because God wants to translate you into the Kingdom of His dear Son, Jesus Christ. Through you, many souls will be saved and drawn to the Lord Jesus Christ because of your submission to Him, once that gift is anointed with His Holy Spirit and with His power. He wants to use you for Him...He knows your innermost thoughts, your pains...He's counted your tears and knows when you haven't gotten much sleep...He knows that sometimes you may say, "This (the stuff you've experienced) is life," or "It's apart of life." Artists like you try to deal with it and express life issues through music, but music alone won't heal or serve as an ultimately release. We are COMPLETELY and TOTALLY healed by THE STRIPES OF JESUS CHRIST! You had the Word in you Bran, at an early age, but a lot of times we get caught up in life styles where we slip and slide away from our safest place, which is in the arms and the shadow of our Lord. For he that dwells in the secret place of the most high, abides under the shadow of the Almighty. (Psalm 91). He's our rock and our refuge...our present help in trouble...our light, our salvation...everything we need is in Him. And we cannot get to Him unless we go through His Son, Jesus (John 14:6)...and I'm just praying for you daily Brandy, so that the you will allow Him to touch you and really totally give your life to Him, because it profits nothing to gain the world and lose your soul. Let Him draw you with His unfailing and unconditional love and let Him get you in a secret place with Him. And you won't just be an R & B singer who makes a Gospel album for the sake of trying to make money on the "other side" supposedly of music because they began to fall off on the secular side, (or many other various reasons why some R & B singers make Gospel albums, but aren't "Ex-R&B singers") but you will actually be one whose life was CHANGED and made new by the Blood of Jesus Christ...One who is real!
This is somebody talking to you that literally had every CD, single, magazine, book, doll, and other items that had any and everything to do with you...I'm an ex- Brandy fanatic!!!! I studied the harmonies and runs as a musician, but when I actually let God, through His Son and His precious Holy Spirit change and renew me, I forsook and am still forsaking the things that don't glorify Him. The gifts that He gives are supposed to be used for His glorify...our very lives are for His glory... down to us eating and drinking!! (1 Corinthians 10:31). God didn't give us creativity to please the world and its prince, but rather to lift Him up so that He can draw ALL PEOPLE to Himself! R & B doesn't draw anyone to Him, but rather draws people to "R & B" and to the artist, which steals away from giving the glory to God. We can go on and on but we won't here. I just know that you are receiving a call from the corridors of Heaven...it's the Lord. Will you answer?

What a wondrous comment! I took the liberty of copy/pasting it to myself as a reminder for myself of all the things you said. I am going to forward it to some family members, people who I know need to hear these same words. I copied your name as well so that credit for this awesome and inspiring and soul moving post goes to the one to whom it is due. Many of us are going through trying times right now and though we believe ourselves to be faithful, sometimes we do slack off in favor of wallowing in our misery and trying really hard to find a way out...because we have forgotten the true way. Thank you so much for this deep and strong reminder. God bless you for sharing yourself this way...and Amen.

Although I believe in some of your lengthy dissertation, you assume Brandy doesn't believe in god (enough?)I hate to say this, but people that are totally absorbed in their regligion frighten me. Why?-- Because I have known people who go to church everytime the doors are open, whoop and holler the loudest while quoting from memory every Bible chapter and verse, and still manage to be some of the evilest, vile people on earth.
I don't know you, thus, cannot offer an opinion on your personal character, but I have known some that go to great lengths to tell others how unworthy they are. I believe in God very deeply but dare not try to change those I encounter. God is all powerful, if He wants someone to become closer spiritually, he doesn't need someone to do His work. Too many people claim to know the will of God but, in reality don't even interpret scripture as it was intended. Throughout history, how many millions have been killed in the name of God? How many bloody wars have been fought over how zealots mis-understood scripture? What a tragedy, men have built just enough churches to make each other hate but not enough to make them love.

Although I think she is multi-talented, she lost me because of her attitude w/ Monica, and her tyrant w/ Sheryl Lee Ralph. If you remember she verbally attacked Sheryl, when she showed up with her hair braided on the Moesha set. She said that braids were her "trademark" and Sheryl shouldn't have them. BS.... she neither invented nor patented braids so why was she tripping? She is and always has been a little diva, and this is why that lie she told Oprah and the world blew up in her face.
