BV Buzz can officially report that Solange Knowles is no longer signed to Interscope/Geffen Records.
This news is no shock to me – quoting a song from Solange's 'Sol-Angel and the Hadley St. Dreams' CD, 'I Told You So' – as this column originally reported that the label intended to part ways with Beyonce's little sister on April 7.
(Read: 'Music World Moves: Kelly Rowland & Solange Knowles Record Deal Drama.')
BV Buzz's previous story caused a firestorm of backlash from both Solange and her father and manager, Mathew Knowles.
At the time, Knowles sent over this unedited statement: "Our joint venture with Music World and Interscope/Geffen/A&M is very much in placed for Solange. It's very disappointing in recent days the amount of false statements in the marketplace from Solange being drop to me accused of being Kelly Rowland's father."
(BV Buzz never reported anything about Knowles being Rowland's father.)
Additionally, Solange took to Twitter to blast this columnist by writing: "Ren and Stimpy "you stooppid idioots part 19″ lol. Today, April 7, 09 I am still on Music World/Geffen/ Interscope records..."
There was
also a lot of behind-the-scenes begging and pleading to have the story killed and removed. Nonetheless, it was true all along.
Denials aside, BV Buzz has learned that the label parted ways with Solange about 30 days after our initial story ran.
"They just waited for the buzz to die down and quietly ended their relationship with her," a source close to the label told us.
Though Solange has been recording new music for her third solo CD, that music is being recorded independently, as she has yet to ink a new deal with another label.
Maybe she'll title that CD 'I Apologize' and dedicate it to me.
BV Buzz reached out to Music World Entertainment for a new comment on this story, though since the company lied once, I'm sure it will lie again.
Here's what folks there had to say: "Solange felt it necessary to go with a smaller independent label that focuses more on the alternative genre, one that reflects her music style and artistry. Solange is working on a new album, and the label will be announced shortly. The relationship with Interscope is excellent and the current album, 'Sol-Angel and the Hadley Street Dreams,' is still being worked through the Music World/ Interscope joint venture with consistent weekly sales."

Contrary to previous claims that Rihanna and Chris Brown reunited in the studio last month to record a new duet, record producer Polow Da Don recently confirmed that the couple recorded the newly surfaced track last year. "The reports are inaccurate," Polow's publicist, Laura Wright, told US magazine. "The duet was recorded long before the incident." According to People, the track, reportedly titled 'Bad Girl,' was intended to be on the soundtrack for 'Confessions of a Shopaholic,' but the song was eventually recorded by the Pussycat Dolls.

Chill out on all the bragging and "getting back at" the Knowles for dissing you. Big deal you were "right." The way this is written, it's not news...nothing about why the dropped her (although if you've listened to her music and compared her sales to Beyonce, it's probably no secret).

If she had as much talent as she has attitude, I doubt this topic would even exist right now.

who cares! she has no talent and her sister beyonce .... can't sing. if you asked beyonce to sing a song - beginning to end - using just her tone she'd fail miserably. these women are not musicians they were created by the best image/marketers in the industry to make mass amounts of money.

I agree with you 100%, why other people can't see beyond the booty shaking and weave is beyond me. There are so many talented singers out there that do not get their fair due. Singers like Melanie Fiona, Jazmine Sullivan, Chrisette Michele and Natasha Bedingfield just to name a few.

Why dont you typical blk self racists leave this woman alone and quit knockin her down because she's just her doing her,and Beyonce is just being Beyonce. so what she's not her sister and isn't doing as well as Beyon, everybody has their own voice and style (well most) and shouldn't try to mimic others to get rich and to get ahead in the music world. leave her be,and just wish her well in all that she does. its hurts that bad for you self racists to do that huh!
