Endless Love: Tyler Perry Still Stalking Diana Ross

Tyler Perry has been on a quest to land Diana Ross for his movie, 'A Jazz Man's Blues' for almost a year.

The Hollywood mogul said despite his public pleas and sending private gifts, the Golden Globe Award-winning star of 'Lady Sings The Blues' will not return his calls.

"Diana Ross is still ignoring me man," Perry admitted to me, during a recent interview in New York City at the Ritz Carlton Hotel. "I've sent flowers! I've sent everything! I am hoping she hears how Gladys [Knight] was treated and how Mary J. [Blige] was treated [in 'I Can Do Bad All By Myself']. I know how to treat a woman, you know. That's why I haven't done 'Jazz Man' yet because I'm waiting for her to say, 'Yes!' Once she says, 'yes,' I'll do that film.

When BV Buzz spoke to Perry back in February when he was promoting 'Madea Goes To Jail,' he declared then that he was on a quest to land the 65-year-old Motown legend for his new movie.

"Print This: Tyler Perry is after Diana Ross!" he exclaimed. "I laid off (from approaching her), because I didn't want to be arrested, but I was sending flowers and everything. I just have to get the right cast. She would be a major part of the film, along with Ben Kingsley, Cicely Tyson, and Kimberly Elise, and myself and someone else. I'm no closer to getting it done. The script is done. I wrote it in 1995. I have to do a rewrite, and I don't do rewrites."

He continued: "Yes, Tyler Perry is stalking Diana Ross. I want her in the film. I've been sending flowers. I've been sending people by her. I've been sending e-mails to people who know her. I've talked to the man who walks her dog. I've been trying to locate where she's at. Is she in this part of the country? Is she doing a concert somewhere? Can I get backstage? Tyler Perry is stalking Diana Ross."

Perry hired the American Music Award winner's daughter Tracee Ellis Ross to co-star in his film, 'Daddy's Little Girls,' though the man behind Madea said hiring her spawn didn't work out in his favor.

"I had Tracee in the movie, but I'm afraid I will have to go younger. I may have to go and get the baby, Evan Ross. If I get him in the film, then she'll come," he laughed.

Ross last starred in the 1999 made-for-TV film 'Double Platinum.' Perry believes she's a great actress and people need to be reminded of that.

"We haven't seen her act in a long time. I would love to let people know how powerful an actress she is," he concluded.
