Online reports that actress LisaRaye McCoy is dating Rev. Al Sharpton have been ubiquitous in recent weeks.
BV Buzz has learned that the story is completely bogus and all began because the former 'All of Us' star attended Michael Jackson's memorial service with the civil rights leader in July.
At her birthday reception at the Willard InterContinental in Washington, DC during Congressional Black Caucus, Sharpton explained while TV One cameras recorded the party for McCoy's upcoming reality series exactly why the actress was there.
"I made a call to celebrities to come support Michael Jackson on a bus ride in New York when he had an issue with his record label. LisaRaye was the only celebrity to respond and come and support Michael," Sharpton said, sounding sermonic. "But when he died, all those same celebrities called trying to get into his funeral. They didn't want to come when he had a story to tell, they wanted the glory after he was gone."
In addition to the MJ connection, the 42-year-old actress and the 55-year-old preacher have been traveling the United States together on the White Houston Education Tour.
The ex-wife of Turks & Caicos premier Michael Misick is an advocate for education, having launched her foundation RayeDiant Jewels in 2007 to encourage literacy and self-esteem.
Now McCoy has joined Education Secretary Arne Duncan and is touring the country with Sharpton and former GOP House speaker Newt Gingrich.

"The White House Education Tour is a direct tie-in to what she's already been doing. Her foundation gives scholarships to young girls," her rep, Lynn Allen Jeter told us.
Additionally, Jeter, who has worked on and off with McCoy since she made her debut in 1998 in 'The Players Club,' assured BV Buzz that the dating rumors about her client and Sharpton are "absolutely not true!"
"Every time you see LisaRaye with somebody, don't assume that she's dating them," Jeter added. "There's a bigger picture to what she's doing. She's trying to help promote education!"
The White House Education Tour kicked off on Sept. 29 in Philadelphia and has stops scheduled on Nov. 3 in New Orleans and on Nov. 13 in Baltimore.

Reverend Al, I affectionately call him... Keeps it real. I admire him, his spirit and willingness to lay it on the line despite who may or may not like it. He follows that old doctrine stand up for something or lay down for anything. I don't subscribe to every thing blindly by no means I just like the fight in the debate that he brings...
