Acclaimed gospel quartet the Clark Sisters are still riding off the success of their latest CD, 'Live: One Last Time.'
After winning their first three Grammy Awards in 2008 for the Donald Lawrence-produced CD, the singing sisters have apparently decided to record new music for EMI Gospel, including a forthcoming Christmas CD later this year.
Karen Clark Sheard, Dorinda Clark Cole, Jacky Clark Chisholm and Elbertina "Twinkie" Clark will announce later this week that they have inked a new deal with EMI Gospel via a partnership with an upstart label launched by Sheard called Karew Records.
Pronounced Ka-Rue, the label is apparently a hybrid of Sheard and her husband, Pastor J. Drew Sheard Sr.'s, names.
Sheard is president of the label and her husband is a partner. Their son, producer J. Drew Sheard, will work in an A&R capacity for the imprint.
In addition to the upcoming holiday recording, Shear
d will also release a long-awaited follow-up to her 2006 solo release 'It's Not Over' on the label this fall.
The Clark Sisters will also record a new CD as a collective that is tentatively slated for 2010.
There's early buzz that the other three sisters will also eventually record and release solo offerings via Karew/EMI Gospel.
Sheard's daughter, Kierra "KiKi" Sheard, will continue to record directly for EMI Gospel.
The long-term deal between EMI Gospel and Karew Records will allow the Detroit-bred sisters to own their masters.
Best known for hits like 'You Brought the Sunshine,' 'Miracle' and 'Is My Living in Vain,' The Clark Sisters were recently featured on the TV One series 'Unsung,' which showcases popular recording artists that didn't meet their full professional potential for various reasons.
The group will perform two songs as the special birthday guests of 'The View' co-host Sherri Shepherd during the ABC talk show's live broadcast on April 22.
A rep for EMI Gospel was unavailable to comment at press time.

"The reports are inaccurate," Polow's publicist, Laura Wright, told US magazine. "The duet was recorded long before the incident." According to People, the track, reportedly titled 'Bad Girl,' was intended to be on the soundtrack for 'Confessions of a Shopaholic,' but the song was eventually recorded by the Pussycat Dolls.

Let's take the best of both worlds and put it on a CD and try to make something we can sell to the consumers. He says he's with it. We're gonna try to make it happen." I'm still gettin used to you w /o your locks.
Im glad for the Clark Sisters. They're very talented I wish I could see their "Unsung" special--bc I do wanna know y they aint as successsful as Kirk Franklin-- but I dont have tv1. Tv1 needs 2 be on basic cable package not premium cable. HEAR THAT TV1? Hear that Cathy and Alfred?
When did Karen get braces?
All look good. I kno Karen got gastric bypass but wont say she did. Have Dori/Jacy as well. Elbertina still looks herself , she is SPECTACULAR on her organ!

I have Time Warner Cable and TVone is carried under the basic cable channels, so it depends on your cable carrier. I live in Cleveland Ohio so it may also depend on where you live as well.

Actually the article doesn't specify who is who, it just lists their names in no particular order. Now had it stated: 'from left to right' or 'right to left' or 'clockwise' or 'counter-clockwise', then yes it would definately be mis-identifed. However, die hard Clark Sister fans, will know who is who.

Actually, the pic is not identified at all. Eventhough the article lists the names of each of them, it doesn't state that they are in particular order (i.e. left to right, right to left, clockwise, or counterclockwise), therefore it is correct.
But Clark Sister fans know who they are!!
ALSO... did Twinkie have the same surgery as Karen? She looks good, of course the picture above is an old one, if you see her now, there is a difference.

At six years old in 1981, I knew they had it!! Till this day, I have and old tape with that song" He brought the sunshine" and my friends at work laugh at me, because its not on My Ipod, I don't care, I Love the Clark, sisters, I'd listen to the Clark sisters on a 8 track if I had to.
