The show has yet to be named and the number of episodes ordered by the network has not been announced.
Regardless, Jeff Olde, executive vice president of original programming at VH1 believes Fantasia's story is "fascinating" and stated tha
t VH1 is "happy to have her."
"Her challenges from fame and her unwillingness to fail have combined to create a larger-than-life talent who appeals to music lovers around the world. So many people wanted to work with her on this, but Fantasia is now part of the VH1 family," said Olde.
The High Point, North Carolina native will resume her role as Celie in the stage adaptation of 'The Color Purple' beginning on June 30 at The Kennedy Center in Washington, DC.

I applaud Fantasia for working for her GED. No matter what degree or diploma one is working for, it is important to remember that education is a lifelong effort that never stops. Congrats to you, Fantasia and I wish you all the very best!

A drop out that had a child by who knows who, when she was a child, is an American Idol? Another role model for our children that doesn't deserve any acknowledgment. Her ignorance in speech and writing shows the level of being uneducated and can't believe she could actually have a reality show - think the American public needs some reality!

It was bad enough having to listen to your illiterate self on idol. Now that you have been irresponsible you get your own show. Octomom is irresponsible and gets a new house and car. What about us people who have paid into the system get? I got hurt at work, dont make enough money to pay mortgage. I have responsibly paid for 20 years. I'm single white educated and don't have kids I know I can't afford. I've have 4 screws and 2 plates in my back, staples in my knee from two reconstructions and 2 major rotator cuff surgeries and I get denied disability twice. Seems to me the only way to get help in this country is to be irresponsible. Please don't put this uneducated skank back on t.v.
