Back to Life: Al Reynolds Talks 'Life After' Divorce
Al Reynolds will be featured on a new TV One series called 'Life After. The show gives viewers the real behind-the-scenes story of how public personalities have "dealt with major turning points in their lives" and how they triumphed in the face of adversity.

Reynolds was thrust into the public eye during his high-profile courtship of, and marriage to, former co-host of 'The View,' Star Jones.

The couple faced immense scrutiny from the tabloid media and in the blogosphere during their relationship, and the negative attention cost the 37-year-old his career as a Wall Street investment banker.

At the time, the Horsepasture, Va., native put his banking career on hold and took over the duties of managing his wife's career.

On 'Life After,' viewers will see how the former Merrill Lynch banker rebounded after his divorce by returning to his roots in finance.

Reynolds, who was recently featured on the news magazine show 'Extra,' is now a professor at Florida Memorial University in Miami, which is a position he took in late 2007, several months before it was announced he and Jones would be divorcing.

In addition, the single (but rumored to be engaged) professor has been offering financial perspectives during his appearances on the FOX Business network.

"I love being a subject-matter expert in the world of finance, particularly in these tough times. I'm glad the FOX Business network allowed me to showcase my background in that," Reynolds told BV Buzz.

Though he was initially apprehensive about undertaking projects that would have him return to the public eye, Reynolds hired public relations powerhouse Simone Smalls of Simone Smalls Public Relations and began slowly accepting projects that would allow him to showcase his professional expertise.

'Life After' is a great opportunity to showcase my professional background in finance and academia. Returning to my roots and being able to present that on a national platform is just the thing I want to do," he said.

'Life After' premieres on TV One this fall and will also feature hip-hop trio Bell Biv Devoe, reality TV star Omarosa, former 'Family Matters' actress turned porn star Jaimee Foxworth, 'Last Dragon' star Taimak and 'The John Larroquette Show' star Daryl "Chill" Mitchell, who became a paraplegic after a 2001 motorcycle accident.
