Just a week after false reports by Star magazine that Sherri Shepherd was going to be fired from the 'The View' because of the recession, Lifetime has now announced that they have inked a deal with the popular daytime talk show host to star in a comedy pilot.
The cable network has ordered the not-yet-titled sitcom project by the former star of ABC's 'Less Than Perfect,' which will tape this spring.
"I'm so excited about my upcoming pilot with Lifetime," Shepherd told BV Buzz exclusively. "The script focuses on life after divorce in a humorous way, and in times like these, we really need a good laugh!"
The TV pilot is loosely based on Shepherd's life experiences and was originally developed for the CW network in 2007.

After the deal at the CW lapsed, the script went to Lifetime, which is half-owned by 'The View's' parent company, Disney.

n 'Live with Regis and Kelly' while starring in the ABC sitcom 'Hope and Faith.'
In addition to co-hosting 'The View,' the almost-divorced, mother of one has starred in the films 'Madagascar: Escape 2 Africa,' 'Beauty Shop,' 'Guess Who' and 'Who's Your Caddy.'

I'm not black, and I voted fro Whoppi. She brought new life and pumped a breath of fresh air back into what had become, for me, a sagging show. I agree with everyone on here that it's almost tragic that Elizabeth is so opinionated that she views the world with blinders on. And if Joy speaks up sometimes it's because she has to talk loud, and sometimes press her point, in order to be heard over Elizabeth's shrillness. Elizabeth should review her manners...it's impolite to interupt people and most annoying when someone just keeps talking, repeating what they've said over and over in order to have the last loud word.

As part of the 'hope-change thingy, 'hope' this cable thing works out.Is she really not as bright as she comes across or is it an 'attention getter'? Good luck to her. Maybe, it is time for the demise of The View-the screaming and bickering is out of control and annoying as hell.

Please tell me when Sherri has ever come across as bright? Could it be when she did not know the earth was round? When she was thinking about voting for Palin because she spoke to her as a Mother? When she took her son to a Halloween party dressed as Moses because they don't celebrate Halloween? I could go on.

I agree. Elizabeth is so damn opinionated and one-sided to be so young. She hasn't been on the planet long anough to know anything about anything, but she sure can pop those babies out one after the other can't she?! I lost a great deal of respect for barbra walters in the way she promoted her book. First of all, i think it was very unclassy the way she talked about her affair with a "black man." Me personally if i were her, i would have never brought that up. So she basically admitted to being a tramp in her day and used that to promote her book. that to me made me not like her at all.

wish Elizabeth would get a new stickt. NO one in
their early 30s should be that opinionated about
everything!! Would love to see her on Fox where
she belongs. Was sad when it didn't happen.
