Baby & A Bride: Jill Scott Is Getting Married Again & Confirms Our Pregnancy Scoop

On Nov. 24, 2008, BV Buzz reported exclusively that Jill Scott was expecting her first child with fiancé, drummer Lil' John Roberts.

Any doubt about my scoop was confirmed – for me at least – days after my story ran and the neo-soul princess posted a link to my story on her personal website in the news section, asking fans what they thought about the possibility.

Now the Philly-bred songstress went on the record for the first time about the pregnancy while promoting her forthcoming HBO series, 'The No. 1 Ladies' Detective Agency' spoke openly about being with child.

"The first trimester I spent in Botswana. That was one of the biggest challenges of my life. First trimester! You're sick every morning. It was seven hours time difference, the heat, the bugs, the 14 hour days," she said to reporters at the Television Critics Association conference in Los Angeles on Friday.
