Season three 'American Idol' winner Fantasia Barrino's Charlotte, North Carolina home has gone into foreclosure.

According to reports, the 24-year-old mother of one's $1.3 million home on Bevington Place will go on auction on Jan. 12, 2009 unless she can make the mortgage payments.

The eight-time Grammy nominee and NAACP Image Award winner bought the 6,232-square-foot, pond-front mansion with six bedrooms in March 2007.

If the former star of Broadway's 'The Color Purple' is unable to make the payments before the auction date, she won't be homeless however.

The R&B star also owns a second home on Charlotte's Seton House Lane that was purchased for $740,000 in July 2004.

Fantasia released an autobiography titled 'Life Is Not a Fairy Tale' in Sept. 2005. The tome was later adapted into a hit movie for the Lifetime network.

Back in June the singer parted ways with 19 Entertainment over "creative differences."

Fantasia received a 2009 Grammy nomination for her duet with Jennifer Hudson on "I'm His Only Woman," which is featured on Hudson 's self-titled album.

UPDATED: Fantasia's home is not being lost due to missed mortgage payments. Instead the Florida-based lender Broward Energy Partners is attempting to recoup the debt any way it can for the home.

According to court documents filed by Broward Energy Partners, Fantasia paid back $10,000 of a $68,000 loan she received from Broward Energy Partners to pay taxes in 2006, but was sued in January for the full amount.

A judge ruled in October that Broward Energy Partners could go after the money, plus 8 percent interest and court costs, to the tune of $65,541.

A rep for the singer's label, J Records, had no comment, and a sheriff's office spokesman stated that her team has not been in touch with Fantasia since the auction date was set.
