Don't hold your breath waiting on a TGT album to be released.
The R&B trio – made up of singers Tank, Ginuwine and Tyrese – announced this time last year that they would release a group album, but apparently plans have changed.
Group member Ginuwine confirmed to me that the TGT compilation has been scrapped.
"That's not going really happen no more," he assured me during an interview on Tom Joyner's Fantastic Voyage cruise where he was a performer. "Everyone is doing their own separate thing. It's hard to get all of us in the studio. Three bosses is kind of hard."
The 'So Anxious' singer said that the fellas did record several tracks together and will likely perform them together on their previously announced 'Shirts Off Tour.'
'We did do like four songs. So we're going to go out on tour together and at the end of the show we'll come out as TGT. That's the best of both worlds right there," the crooner explained.
To build excitement for the TGT project, the group released a remix to Tank's hit single, 'Please Don't Go,' last summer.
A track called 'Sex' surfaced online and the group also appeared on a Slim Thug song called 'Let Me Grind.'
A complete TGT album and the female-fans-only 'Shirts Off Tour' was slated for 2008.
In addition to Ginuwine disclosing that the group endeavor is dead, Tyrese has announced that he will retire from the music industry to concentrate on his film career.
"I shut down everything on the music side. My new name is Tyrese "Oscar" Gibson," he told the hip-hop portal Dubcnn.com. "I'm gonna drop another album after I grab the gold one, no joke!"
The singer-actor said he has passed on several music collaborations for fear of losing focus.
"It was hard, but I know that if I sing on another song, it's gonna suck me right back in the game. I've done 15 years of straight music and I will do it again. One day. I will do my next album after my Oscar for Best Actor party," he offered.
Well, I guess that means the 'Shirts Off Tour' is a no-go too.

Ok I spell a bunch have haters. All of them can sing! Especially Ginuwine and Tyrese! You people have nothing better to do than to hate on this group, get a life and know what you're talking about before you open your mouth! It is sad that they're not going to complete this album they would have done it BIG! I am still rutting for all of them they were just too busy with there on thing to come together. But I wish them all the best!!! Love A Loyal Fan from Memphis, Tn
