The 'Greatest Love of All' singer performed on the last night of the festival, just before headliner Rod Stewart took the stage.
Houston opened her show with 'Its Not Right, But Its Okay' and by her third song, 'Saving All My Love,' the once soprano's newfound tenor tone was in full rasp.
Delivering only seven songs during her 30 minute set, Houston was r
eportedly paid a whopping $3 million for the show.Though journalists were flown in from all over the world, Houston refused to allow media and photographers within 200 feet of the stage. She brought her own photographer to the venue and only he was allowed to shoot her performance.
Wearing a white gown with a single shoulder strap, Houston skipped around the stage and continuously shouted to the crowd: "I love you Trinidad!'
Unfortunately, the concert was in Tobago!
Locals shouted back each time: "This is Tobago!"
Houston also paid tribute to several other festival performers during her show.
"Hearing so many of the greats that have performed this weekend bring back so many memories," she told the crowd. "My daughter and I have listened from our porch each night and I have enjoyed Diana Ross, Smokey Robinson and En Vogue."
The 44-year-old music icon ambitiously attempted 'And I'll Always Love You,' however she struggled through the build up and knew better than attempt the high finish.

She bowed and then squatted after her pseudo-encore of Chaka Khan's 'I'm Every Woman,' which Houston also recorded for 'The Bodyguard' soundtrack.
The BV Buzz previously reported that Houston is slated to headline the Caudwell Children's Legend Ball at Battersea Evolution in London on May 8.
A comeback album is rumored to feature production by the likes of Akon, R. Kelly and Ne-Yo, among others and is schedule for November.
Houston divorced singer Bobby Brown in Feb. 2007 after 14 years of marriage.
Since then she's been romantically linked to R&B singer Ray J.

I'm gonna be very skeptical unless I see any footage of Miss Houston myself about her sounding "bad." It seems to me that some people expect vocals like back in the days of "The Bodyguard." Folks, it aint gonna happen. But if Whitney can get on stage and still belt, even if its lower, then I'm pretty happy. Let's have realistic expectations and not skewer a woman who just got her damn life back on track. She can still sing better than 90 percent of the shit on the radio. Period.

By: COME ON, TRINIDID WHITNEY? on 4/27/2008 10:51PM
Come on Whitney? People flew miles away and wanted to get your pic and maybe an interview and you kept them away! What's wrong "Nit Whit"? Are you afraid the media is going to ask you personal questions about RAY J and your EX BOBBY? Whitney,"You need all the support from the Media and your "Fans"! You have been out of the "Limelight" for some time! Not only did you keep the media out of distances but you only performed 7 songs? If it wasn't for you REMINESING about the GOOD OL' DAYS AND MAKING SHOUT OUTS TO THE PEOPLE IN MUSIC YOU LOVE, you could have threw in maybe 2 to 3 more songs to give the "FANS" what they paid for!
On top of that, you had the nerve and said to the crowd, "I love you Trinidad ! I would have been "DISSAPOINTED TOO" and would have been like, "What are you smoking"? I guess you got that one from your girl MRS. DIANA ROSS? The fans booed her too at a festival she did! You better "APPRECIATE" AND BE "HUMBLE"! Ain't nobody is going to see your behind with that stuck up ATTITUDE! You ain't getting any YOUNGER AND YOUR VOICE ISN'T THE RANGE IT USED TO BE! YOU OWE THAT TO THE MEDIA AND YOUR FANS!

She look amazing. Thin and Healthy. Her voice was just fine. She just a beauty!!! Shes tall and slender. She has european features. I was did not realize how pretty she is in person.Back to her voice you can really see that is coming along. She hit some really good notes but she was also being coutious. Her confident is just not there yet. But her voice is there in fact I though it was very clear. Some not many were a bit upset beacuse she said I love you Trinidad. I also saw Diana she was great!!! Her voice is very simple so its not hard ofr her to sing. She has a very nasal voice. Her notes are just simple. She look great too!!
Whitney is just a DIVA...I love her then and I love her even more now.

After rumoring her to be dead from a diet pill overdose and having a lesbian affair with her best friend I'm not suprprised that Whitney has an anti-media mindset and didn't let them near her. And I say that as a journalist and employee of the world's largest global television network. It sounds like this reviewer thought Whitney was going to sound like the late 80s early 90s Whitney, which aint gon' happen because she developed voice polyps. Stop comparing Whitney to earlier Whitney because no one, not even Whitney today, can compare to Whitney of the 80s and early 90s. Consider her voice as it is now, the voice of a woman who's been belting out songs for more than 2 decades. Can she still carry a tune? Just because her pitch is lower doesn't mean she can't still sing. And she was never a soprano, get ur facts straight. Let's be for real, anyone expecting her to belt out IWALY the way she did 15 years ago is fooling themselves. She adjusted the song to fit her current abilities as she should have. And I find it strange that a concert she performed in Decenber 2006, when she was just starting her comeback had a better review than this. You would think her voice had improved. I think Mr. Murray is just caught up on the 3 million dollar thing, but it's not ur money, that's on the people who paid her that much.

It sounds as if the writer of this article is clearly bitter because he couldn't get an interview with Whitney. No, her voice doesn't sound like it did in 1993 (Bodyguard Era) and I'm not expecting it to! Regardless, she's an accomplished vocalist/entertainer whose mere presence gracing the stage is good enough. Whitney's "real" fans are so hyped about this comeback....and it's coming!

I feel like this report was rushed so that it would be among the first. How can anyone rate the performance who was not there? I'll ignore this opinion and not form one of my own until I've heard the audio, which is what this guy SHOULD have done.

I need to hear audio before I believe anything negative. Homegirl is trying her best. She went through HELL and it is important to note that she survived that. All these people bitching about her voice. Be thankful that she has her LIFE right now. It was NOT an easy task to overcome all the negatives she has. That being said, she needs to do this comeback right and I applaud her effort. Keep it up Whitney.

Umm, well this IS Whitney Houston. Why is anybody surprises at her demands?? I think she sounded better than this journalist gives her credit for. At her concert in Malaysia, the initial reports said she sounded "bad" but 12 hours later, everybody else was saying she sounded good.
