Mariah Carey is dating Nick Cannon.

The self-proclaimed "eternally 12" singer, who is now 39-year-old, and the former Nickelodeon star have been seeing each other for the last couple of weeks, according to reports.

Carey and Cannon were in Las Vegas last weekend for rapper Da Brat's birthday party.

The couple arrived in a private jet and went straight to Privé Las Vegas at Planet Hollywood, where Cannon was deejaying that night. Onlookers said the pair looked cozy while being escorted through the club.

At one point during the night, the 'Wild N Out' star spun Jay-Z's 'Public Service Announcement' and sang along with the lyrics, "I got the hottest chick in the game." The newly svelte Carey stood and raised her wine glass.

After her performance on Fox's 'American Idol' on Wed. this columnist received a text message from someone at the Beverly Hills Hotel that the pair was out front of the posh hotel in a black Bentley.

Rumors of a romance between the singer, who just broke Elvis Presley's record for the most number one singles, and the 'Drumline' star began after they worked together on a music video for Carey's new CD, 'E=MC2.'

Apparently, Cannon was originally slated to make a cameo in the video, but Carey soon promoted him to director.

The 27-year-old actor/rapper was recently engaged to Victoria 's Secret model Selita Ebanks, but the couple broke up in November of last year.

He has also dated Christina Milian.

Carey was previously married to record executive Tommy Mottola, but the couple divorced in 1993.

She's also been romantically linked to rapper Eminem and singer Luis Miguel.

April 20, 2008 – 'Access Hollywood' is reporting that Carey and Cannon are officially engaged.

Though reps for the two entertainers were not available to comment, sources close to Mariah told the news magazine series that dazzling new ring she's been sporting is definitely an engagement ring.

Carey first wore the new bling on her ring finger when she attended the after party for her film, 'Tennessee,' at the Tribeca Film Festival in New York City .

When Cannon was asked by People magazine what he loved about Carey at the soiree, he replied: "Everything!"
