Star Jones Reynolds' daytime talk show, 'Star Jones,' on TruTV (formerly Court TV) will end on Friday, Feb. 1.
After six months of being on the air, Reynolds' live, 3 p.m. afternoon chat show will cease broadcasting on the Turner-owned network.
The show, which debuted on Aug. 20, 2007, was a hybrid talk show that fused current events, legal issues, entertainment features, politics and Reynolds' popular "Open Letter" segment.
A joint statement released by Reynolds and TruTV on Jan. 31 stated that a "mutual agreement" between both parties resulted in the show ending.

"There was no nastiness. We have a mutual respect and both agreed that this was best," she continued.
The statement from TruTV backs that up.
"Due to the rebranding and programming refocus of the network, TruTV and Star Jones Reynolds have mutually agreed to cease production of 'The Star Jones Show,'" the network said. "Star will continue as a contributing legal expert on our weekday 'In Session' trial coverage. We appreciate the work she has contributed over the last few months and look forward to the next phase of our relationship."

She reportedly had a three-year pay-or-play deal, meaning she gets her salary regardless if the show airs.
Reynolds invited me and several other regular guests from the 'Star Jones Show' to join her for the final broadcast.
During her "Open Letter" segment on Feb. 1, she officially said goodbye to her audience.

Star Jones is like Luther Vandross to me. Did you like the Fat Star or the Skinny Star better? The lesson this sends is be yourself and do your best. A TV or Singing Career isn't promised forever. I miss you Luther. Star live and learn. How do you think Kanye's Mom feels? You are good enough! It's Hollywood that needs to change. If you get jobs based on your religion that's discrimination. If you get jobs based on your "Talents", that's pimping. If you don't get a job because you don't "fit" then use your law degree.

She got kicked off the View because she lost weight and got married. They wanted her fat and lonely. White people are a trip sometimes, they actually added a fat sister and a lesbia sister (whoppi) to make it appear that they aren't racists. But I wonder why all the white women are attractive and slim?

When one door is closed, the Lord always opens a bigger & better door as long as we stay faithful to him. Star, the greatest thing my mother ever said to me before she passed was that she was proud of me. I'm extremely proud of your accomplishments. Keep looking toward the stars (hills) which cometh your help. Be Blessed!

A CHUBY BRITE YOUNG GAL, WHO DOSE BECOME OF ALL THINGS AN ATTORNEY ? THEN A HOST ? THESE EAGOS ARE A BIT MUCH , AND A GIRL CAN LOSE HER SOFTNESS ! WHICH IT HAS DONE WITH MRS JONES !LADY FIRST, AS IN LADYS BEFOR GENTLEMEN !WHAT WE ARE SAYING IS BE A WOMAN YET A SMART WOMEN ! ANY OTHER ROAD FOLKS QUESTION YOUR PREFRENCE !

I loved the show!! I hated the way Barbara Walters fired her, but loved that Star shocked everyone and left on her terms. BRAVO. I loved Star's show on Court TV. It was informative, on point and gave all sides even though sometimes Star was a little too opinionated. That may have been why she was dismissed. But that is Star...she was raised thinking she is a STAR and she acts like that and gives her opinion very strongly and very opinionated. But most of the time she is on point.

I m shocked at the shows' cancellation. Star Jones is brillamt and her show was reality/actuality 100%. Is that not what TRU-TV is suppose to be about. Then on the other hand, if Star had money like Oprah, she would not be cancelled. Star is much better than Oprah.

I have no idea why- but her show just did not appeal to me; I found myself watching Trutv all day, and as soon as Star came on I turned. I guess I had gotten used to court case coverings, and just didn't want to hear some one-persons opinion about anything. Coupled with I've NEVER been a Star Jones fan.
