Actor Rockmond Dunbar has been cast in Tyler Perry's sixth film, 'The Family that Preys Together.'
Sources close to the production tell me that the 'Prison Break' actor's deal was finalized late last week.
Sanaa Lathan, Kathy Bates and Alfre Woodard have already been cast for the project. According to Variety, Oscar winner Jennifer Hudson is also in talks to star in the film.
Last summer
Though he plays gay in Maurice Jamal's breakout independent film, 'Dirty Laundry,' the 35-year-old former 'Soul Food' star currently dates model Machiko Harris in real life.
Dunbar, who recently guest-starred on ABC's drama 'Grey's Anatomy,' was previously married for three years to model Ivy Holmes. The couple divorced in 2006.
'The Family that Prays Together' is an original screenplay written by Perry and the script follows two families from different sides of the tracks that become intimately involved in love and business.
The movie isn't being adapted from a touring play like the filmmaker's most successful film franchises.
In the meantime, Perry's fifth film, 'Meet The Browns,' is set to hit theaters on March 21. It stars Angela Bassett, Rick Fox, David & Tamela Mann, Lamman Rucker and Jenifer Lewis.

For the love of God, please leave this man alone. He is making decent african-american family movies that are employing african-americans actors and actresses that are not getting roles elsewhere. I'm am breathlessly awaiting the DVD release of why Did I get Married and anything else he makes. At lease he is making movies. Where is John Singelton or Spike Lee ?

He needs to light some fire on these upcoming movies. Lately they've been all stereotypical and flat. I hope it comes through with something fresh.
